Both are international flights, immigration takes place in AMD, you transit in the international concourse in DEL.

It is in sticky for BOM transfer thread. (on both India destination forum as well as India based airline forum)

The problem is that like most things related to India, things are murky.

Only certain domestic AI flights are "international" and for most people it is not easy to find out which flight numbers are domestic segments of international flights. (Gold smugglers seem to know this loophole very well and use it very efficiently it seems)

Even on AI website you can indirectly find out about these flights when you look for check-in requirements at Mumbai airport. But similar info under Delhi link is missing.

Not that AI website can be relied upon. The special link they have maintained about U sticker, OCI card and expired/new passport certainly has incorrect information. And so might be the information about transfer desks at Mumbai airport

That's why people come to FT )
