Northeast Tourism?

Looking at spending Dec 27-30 in the Northeast next month as it is the only region of India I haven't seen in any sort of depth - I've never left Bengal...

Does anybody have any suggestions/experience regarding good destinations to spend the 3 days?

Until December 31, Protected Area Permit requirement is waived in Mizoram, Nagaland, and Manipur, so this might be a good chance to check those areas out?

we went to shillong about 9 years back and unfortunately we couldnt see much as there was a bandh that day. so we had to come back same day which was crappy, but that place looked really promising. just have a backup.

I've done Guwahati, Darjeeling, Shillong and Aizwal, including a helicopter from (IIRC) Bagdogra to Shillong.

Three of the four were, in hindsight and IMO, just a been there done that, and I doubt I would return.

Darjeeling I definitely may consider returning back to, especially if the hotel situation improves!
