Another ATM question

I posted this question as part of another ATM question below. I am thinking my question may get lost in the thread. So, I am posting a similar, but separate post for up to date answers. My apology for the duplicity.

I have been reading on other travel bulletin boards that limits have been placed on the maximum amount of Rupees per ATM transaction. I have seen the amount at 10,000 per withdrawal. Is this accurate? Or does it just vary bank to bank?

It seems there are ATMs at the DEL according to the airport website. I would like to make an ATM withdrawal upon arrival. Are there any ATMs before leaving the customs/immigration area? Or, is it after entering the business of the other side?

Thanks - Jim

Correct, they are outside security as best I remember. I've done 5k INR a day, but never tried more, with no problems.

Generally, the HSBC ATMs seem to be best for US based travelers, although I have used others with no problem. Just look for the logo from the back of your card (Pulse, Cirrus, etc)

The interbank withdrawal limit is INR 10k but your own bank may have a higher limit for withdrawal.

the 10k limit is per transaction. I withdrew 25k last week at Delhi T3 domestic in 3 separate transactions.
