Website for checking Visa Requirements
Was wondering if anyone knew of some good websites where one could check on the various documents needed for a particular country, if one's an Indian passport holder.
Figured there must be some site which has consolidated all this info from an Indian passport holder standpoint.

When checking your documents at check-in (if in doubt) airlines are using IATA publication called "Timatic" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timatic (exists in many forms incl printed and comp database).
Here you can use it free of charge http://www.iatatravelcentre.com/ but you will get only a "user friendly" output which should be enough in most cases. Some airline websites (like Virgin and Delta quoted above) also providing extract from Timatic.

I sometimes use this but just for reference..data can be old and not updated..
http://www.justlanded.com/english/Spain/Visas-Permits -- (u can change country settings in the top on left side)
http://www.travisa.com/nonuscitizen.asp
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_re...ndian_citizens
If I need some basic info, I normally use the combination of these sites for an idea.. and then just check specifically at the embassy site in India..
Hope it helps..

I use this Delta page (which uses information from IATA) to figure out all visa questions. You plug in the traveler's citizenship, destination country, and (if applicable) transit country and get a pop-up with the visa requirements. It is updated constantly and has never steered me wrong.

A fellow mod had quite a bit of discussions with LH staff last week when his passport was only 5 months valid and TIMATIC said if you fly to Nigeria it has to be valid six months. His argument that the Nigerian Embassy issued the visa and all was ok and crosschecked didn't matter.
The reason behind this is that the authorities love to fine airlines which bring in pax with incorrect documents. I'm sure B747 can chime in here. if they toe the TIMATIC line, there is no need to worry (that much).@:-)
