The reason behind this is that the authorities love to fine airlines which bring in pax with incorrect documents. I'm sure B747 can chime in here. if they toe the TIMATIC line, there is no need to worry (that much).@:-)
my brother was not allowed to travel to the uk since he only had a 5 month validity left on his passport....he was going to london for a 4 day shoot....even the fact that his uk visa was only valid for another 2 months didn't make a difference with the authorities....
