Rajasthan suggestions
I'm going to be visiting India again in September and with my concerns on the CWGs aside, I'm planning on focusing on Rajasthan on this trip. We will hire a driver for the trip and start from Delhi and go to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. This will be my second time to the Taj Mahal, with hopes to see it at sunrise, sunset and at moonlight. From there we're planning on Jaipur for sure, but after that I'm at a dilemma of where to proceed next. Off all the following... which are must see: Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, a camel safari, Bikaner and Udaipur. I would like to keep this journey to a week if possible as I have to visit Pune as well.
I have a travel agent friend in Pune suggesting, as an abbreviated week long tour of Delhi-Agra-Jaipur-Jodhpur-Bikaner-Delhi.
Any thoughts?

my suggestion would be to also include jaisalmer to your itinerary....maybe in place of bikaner....also, udaipur would be much better than jaipur....
this thread might help....

If possible, I would spend a couple of days in Mount Abu, at the expense of Bikaner and perhaps Jodhpur. And I would absolutely not miss Udaipur and its environs.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll find out shortly how much time I have to commit to this trip. I wish I didn't have to eliminate any particular place, but I have a feeling I won't be able to get it all in!
As for Mt. Abu - I've been before. I was crippled with a head cold with horrific headache at the time so I didn't enjoy it much actually. We were the only ones in the hotel which was quite creepy.
