LH via MUC is nice - but the shortest route for you is likely to be asiapac. TG for example, or CX.

I think AA thru ORD is decently quick as well. That being said and just got back doing it, Id rather do CX thru HKG in F or C.

CX is my favourite airline but the lay overs were pretty long.

So I went for LH via MUC on the outbound, LH via FRA on the inbound

Initially that was $2K more than coming back via MUC but the price equalized.

I postponed my travel plans. The flight was running from LAX but at check-in they could not give me any type of assurance that MUC-DEL would be running.

EK has a good J product. I do the non-stop from JFK, en-route to DEL and find it quite convenient. Lots of flights from DXB to DEL.

I go the other way -- LAX to BKK on UA or TG, then to DEL on TG. UA requires an overnight stop (which isn't such a bad thing), TG does not.

This time of year, UA has 744s with the new business class seats over the Pacific, over the winter they fly the 777 which still has the old seats.
