Another one bites the dust...

I had bought a NRT-BOM J ticket on NH and flew their non-stop Business Jet service earlier this year; the return leg (BOM-NRT) was booked for August 09.

Earlier today I got a call from NH advising that they had stopped their all-Business-Class non-stop service to BOM and had re-booked me on TG via BKK.

So BOM loses yet another carrier ...

PS. I do know that NH is not an 'Airline of India', but thought this may be an appropriate home for the news

It's amazing that an all-business flight would even be started to India. I don't know what ANA's expected market was.

LH flies an all-business plane to Poona, but I believe there is a VW manufacturing plant there (I may have gotten this wrong).

NH operated this flight for at least 4-5 years and whenever I have flown the route, the flight had about 20-30 passengers. So I don't think they were doing too badly, except perhaps in 2009 when they must have felt the impact of the 26NOV08 attack coupled with the recession.

Mercedes Benz @ Pune if I am not mistaken (based on my conversation with people sitting next to me on this flight - hence take it for what it is worth....)

Have flown it once - its was almost full. Haven't done it recently.....the ghoulish ~4AM arrival keeps me away from this one.

That said, you will be surprised at how full Business class is on most flights to BOM.....(I typically do LH/Delta)

IOK< but a J section is one thing and a J plane is another.

I realize it's a smaller plane, not an entire 747, but that has its own inefficiencies...

Sorry, title is a bit misleading. With all the bad news about Indian LCC I clicked to see some unexpected bad news. Not so. It's just about NH's all
Business Jet. Not surprising news, but should be in the ANA section. I could never figure out why ANA launched this service. Required refueling stop as well during certain weather conditions. If you think about it, there should be many more destinations in China to warrant an all business jet service.

I believe this was the only direct flight to NRT and code shared with 9W. Flew SQ BOM to NRT trhough SIN, but it's certainly a much longer route and more time consuming. Through HKG looks like less of a detour.

?? All-C? How can they fill the plane, unless they are *heavily* discounting the flight, in this current economic climate!

What aircraft? If it's one of those small Airbuses, count me out.

From when? Also, any info on timings? If timings match my connection requirements I would much prefer to connect through MUC than FRA!!

It may just be that the flight was not operating on the day of your original booking. The flight is still in the schedules, only it is reduced to 4 weekly from daily.

Aurangabad - Skoda assembly unit.

Pune - VW's manufacturing unit -With investment totalling some 410 million euros, a full production plant with a press shop, body shop, paint shop and assembly lines is to be built on the 230 hectare site in the Chakan industrial park near Pune. & Currently started the production of 'PASSAT' & JETTA.

As well as Swarovski production there. What about call centers and service centers. I know that HYD have a few big international corporates there, maybe PUNE has it as well.
