Well, the lounge access was a minor success. I ended up getting access to The Fresco restaurant, rather than the Plaza lounge-- as I had hoped.

There was complimentary buffet, which was decent. However, no comfortable seating or work area.

Did they mention why?

i think they share the lounge with kingfisher so each airline has a limit on how many lounge passes they hand out....if the lounge is full then they send people to the fresco & vice versa....

I was asking as that is quite a big lounge and I have yet to see it over crowded. Maybe they are sending Citi card holders to the fresco restaurant.

The only observation I have flying Konnect the other week MAA-BLR was that they used a plane with biz seats and I got to sit in one of those. I like that.

However, I am still devastated by the closure of the BICA lounge in the intl terminal as that was always more peaceful than the other lounges. They had good chicken croissant sandwiches and beer...

On the domestic side, I use the BICA lounge anyway as it's also nice and peacuful...not crowded at all...

we still got the konnect service though....my wife asked for a blanket & they said they didn't carry them on konnect flights....as usual we had to pay for food & drinks....

Happens once in a while if it is a positioning flight. The only definitive way to tell (other than after you enter the aircraft) if you're getting Biz seats on a Konnect flight (presuming you're booked in one of the first few rows) is to look at the livery on the outside of the aircraft. If the word "Konnect" is added above "Jet Airways" then its retrofitted with all economy seats, else you have biz seats. The only other (and unreliable way) to tell is when you web check-in, the middle seats in the first few rows appear to have already been taken. But like I just said, VERY UNRELIABLE.

Nevertheless, I always look for the first few rows (preferably aisle), so I do end up lucky once every now and then.

Yes, they don't give you blankets. In fact, until a month back, they were giving out small bottles of water which they've stopped now - these days you've got to ask ask, and then you get water in a paper cup.

One more thing, and I don't know if I'm being obsessed with this thought since this morning. I think on the retrofitted Konnect aircraft, the window seat on the first row is extremely cramped as compared to on any other row. Was checked in for 1A (MAA-DEL) this morning. Extremely uncomfortable. Thankfully, the entire row 4 was empty, so I got 3 seats all to myself.

i always get my travel agent to tell me what kind of aircraft is being used....they also block the seats for me well in advance....

i have a bunch of konnect reservations coming up over the next couple of months....if they are using biz seats then my travel agent should be able to block them for me while making the booking....

Yeah...whatever happened to those tiny water bottles...?? on a recent HYD - MAA Konnect flight, must have been nearing 40 degrees out of HYD and the crew ended up having to serve each passenger a 'cup of water' at some point of time during the flight...would have worked out far easier to jus give each one their bottle of water...

Thank goodness I haven't flown a Konnect flight so far - and I'm trying to make sure I never will! :p

easy for folks mostly flying ex-BOM / DEL. ex-MAA has mostly Konnect. IT is an option but for those (like yours truly) looking to maintain elite status flying in the back will have to put up with Konnect

can i just ask, what is the point of maintaining status if Konnect does not respect it?
