It's Airlines of India, btw...
Jet is indeed mentioned below, and due to this, I think the post is warranted, at least imo...
(I'm interested to note *less* competition ex-BOM, which is not good!
)
Wow - never heard this! I knew that OS is gone, but this sucks...

Correction, I'm seeing AI keeping their flights for the time being within Sabre (doubt they'd give up the slot).
Kind of interesting to see 3 Indian carriers and only 1 British one on that route

Bad news for BOM flyers. I guess this is probably due to the downturn in economy.

out of all the non stop options: BA, 9W, IT, VS, AI.
AI and VS had the worst reputation in terms of service (aircraft type, IFE, crew attitude etc etc)
AI had the 747, 767 options and VS had a A343. I travelled on the A343 and boy it was long and boring, old seats, little piddly IFE screen (not the AVOD version in the A346!), crew thought they were something special as they were indians working for Virgin!
AI have now introduced the 77W.
VS had one daily and with old equipment yet the fare was almost identical to what BA and 9W were charging who both have 2x daily options and in my opinion much much better service.
Im glad they are gone!

I would not worry about fares rising or anything just yet, there are still an umpteen amount of carriers who offer LON-BOM fares!
