I was thinking if BLR gets intercontinental service, flights to the US/Canadian west coast through PVG. Immediate acess to BLR-SFO goldmine, & allows 9W to add another west coast city. I suspect DEL-PVG-LAX will launch soon filling in the major holes either end. Perhaps BLR-PVG-SEA/YVR?

The BOM-PVG-SFO flt was originally planned as a BLR-PVG-SFO flt but later changed to BOM. Once the new airport is smoothly operational, 9W will announce a few routes from BLR. We just have to wait. I assume that a link to SFO/SEA will be high up in connectivity from BLR.

The only routes they are considering from BLR is to Dubai (after they get the rights to Dubai). They are also considering HYD to SIN.

I think 9W is concerned about the slowdown in the US economy and will wait until the situation stabilizes. It may even cede BLR - US routes to AI or Kingfisher and concentrate on BOM, DEL, MAA.

The following URL gives all the flights from BLR to any destination on May 1, 2008 (you can change the date). In this case we find 229 flights to 36 destinations, but BRU is not among them:

I am not surprised. BOM is a more lucrative and surer market than BLR.

No! It was always BOM-PVG-SFO, not sure where you got this info that it was from BLR.

BOM - East coast is a surer market; BLR-SFO is higher yielding then BOM/DEL - SFO year round.

If not, why would both Kingfisher & Air India plan their SFO nonstops from BLR first?

The AI BLR-SFO is surprising given that AI only concentrates on BOM/DEL.

There was something about AI wetleasing flights from IT. Could it be that this flight's going to get operated with these wetleased IT birds?

9W will introduce a flight out of BLR to HKG. They are expanding very aggressively to HKG.

Is there a rumour floating that Kingfisher is soon to start BLR - LHR service?

Kingfisher has one arrival/departure slot allotted for summer '08 LHR slot allocations it needs to be seen whether they'll use that for BOM or BLR.

Yes BLR-LHR will happen if not now it'll be in next season.
