Al-B says QR explored working with Tata to take over AI in 2018 but it didn't get anywhere because of the SQ/UK JV.
https://economictimes.indiatimes.com...w/82399733.cms Very timid interview, maybe the ET people didn't ask the right questions... I would have thrown in a questions about Puri-jis anbitions to scrap sixth freedom right... ;) |
SpiceJet's bid is a joke. They cannot even manage their own airline, how would they even manage a much larger airline, with debt and employee issues.

I agree with others, Spicejet bid is just to show that Tata won the bid fairly!

I'm just disappointed that the AI Staff's 4 crore bid has been rejected.

Final final final bid next week: https://economictimes.indiatimes.com...w/86032548.cms
The bid has moved slowly, as the government and bidders worked to resolve several issues the airline has, as it will form the template of the airline’s future. They sought to resolve issues ranging from employee benefits to how government guarantees will be dealt with. |
The Tata group, and SpiceJet promoter Ajay Singh (bidding as an individual, not as SpiceJet) have submitted bids for Air India.

I hope that it works out this time. Government needed to get out of the airline business like 10 years ago.
