AI DEL-SFO flights | Business Class

I may need a DEL-SFO-DEL ticket in Business Class. Does anyone know whether AI discounts this route (in J) at all or do they simply charge the regular published fares? If discounts are indeed available, what is the best way to grab one?

Well, as the route is yet to start, no upgrade experiences for the specific route are known.

In general, AI allows you to upgrade at airport to business class for $900 one-way for flights between India and USA.
More information here.

Also, some users have benefited from OptionTown, where you can pay beforehand and get the upgrade confirmed before you reach the airport.

i wouldn't expect any discounts on a new route at the moment....i also don't think the airport upgrade between india-u.s. is good value since the upgrade price + the cost of your economy ticket will be almost the same as a business class ticket....

+1..
I recall reading somewhere few weeks back that apparantly 70% of the seats were already booked for the 1st month !!

AI anyway has quite competitive C class fares usually with loads of miles.
