Help with itinerary

Hi,

I have a wedding to attend in Jan, and trying to find the best deals.

I have to go to Mumbai, but for the wedding have to fly to Bangalore. I was wondering if I can fly to Bnagalore directly attend the weddinf for 2 days and then fly from bangalore to Mumbai. But i don't know if domectic flights will allow luggages?

Also, if they do allow baggage without having to pay extra i think its more economical to frly from US to Bnaglore and then do one way domestic to Mumbai.

I can fly either from EWR or PHL or JKF, just need some good deals.

Any suggestions?

Yes, domestic flights in India do allow you to check in baggage for free. Check the websites of the airlines for the exact allowance.

Do your homework first by looking up the prices of various options (open jaw with one-way domestic ticket), multi destination trip, etc on various websites (orbitz, makemytrip, cleartrip, etc). Figure out what fits your schedule, budget and airline preferences. Then come back and post your results and folks will be happy to provide advice.

USA-BOM fares are often significantly cheaper than USA-BLR fares, probably because there is less competition to BLR.

As for deals, ITA Matrix is generally the best if you know how to use it effectively. UA out of ZFV is another option.

The ZFV trick is pretty cool however, its amorning train from PHL and you have to wait almost 12 hours in Ewr. coming back is not that bad.

Also, Kayak does not show results if I put in ZFV.

and the ITA matrix was showing more for the PHL - Mumbai vs kayak.

Maybe like you siad I am not using it correctly.

Right now for the dates I am looking at is around $1176 from PHl and ZFV is $1250 or something for non-stop from EWR through Continental.

My dates flixible in terms between the 8-12th of Jan
