As for deals, ITA Matrix is generally the best if you know how to use it effectively. UA out of ZFV is another option.
The ZFV trick is pretty cool however, its amorning train from PHL and you have to wait almost 12 hours in Ewr. coming back is not that bad.
Also, Kayak does not show results if I put in ZFV.
and the ITA matrix was showing more for the PHL - Mumbai vs kayak.
Maybe like you siad I am not using it correctly.
Right now for the dates I am looking at is around $1176 from PHl and ZFV is $1250 or something for non-stop from EWR through Continental.
