if you are going to book it online, then the answer is no. i have redeemed tickets online from my fathers frequent flyer account sitting in a different city and travelled without me having his membership card or any other id of his with me

Thanks Guys. So my understanding is that if we book online then we can book for anybody. Also if a person other than traveler's credit card is used then we need to provide a self attested copy of credit card.

Thank you all guys. I booked 3 tickets and used most of miles in my parents account. One question both the tickets shows original frequent flyer number attached to the person travelling even though that FREQUENT FLYER NO is not ours. Will that be an issue? How can we remove or update with our number.

You can go to manage booking on the website click on passenger name in the booking and choose the frequent flyer option. Not sure if it would let you do it but you can try. But why would you want to do it
