Any redemption on partner's is a pain. You need to pay all taxes, you have to book 2 weeks in advance and once the ticket issued its like the old BA EC- Use it or loose it.
However, you could redeem on 9W a BRU-JFK-BRU, a BRU-YYZ-BRU or a BRU-EWR-BRU and add on a cheap hop to BRU from UK.
With 50 K miles you could do a roundtrip in ECO for 40k MILES or also buy 10,000 miles (at a cost of INR 12,500 - around 180Quid), and do a oneway biz at 40k and oneway eco at 20k - not a bad deal..

I remember there is a tool to calculate how many Jet miles are needed for partner award ticket. Is it still available? How do I know how many miles are needed for a particular routing? Only by calling Jet service center?
