Here is a quick summary of what's in the release:

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, today announced that it will commence daily non-stop flights from Mumbai to Johannesburg from April 14th, 2010. The airline will introduce services to the Rainbow Nation using a new state-of-the-art Airbus 330-200 aircraft.

...

Flight 9W 242 will depart Mumbai at 0205 hours, arriving in Johannesburg at 0735 hrs. On the return leg, flight 9W 241 will depart Johannesburg at 1100 hrs, arriving in Mumbai at 2330 hrs.*

...

Return Economy fares from various Indian cities start from INR 35,595 while return Premiere (Business Class) fares start from INR 1,16,020.**
The Y fare seems pretty competitive, before whatever the YQ and taxes are. Not sure what J normally is for this route.

EDIT: Darn, no such luck during World Cup season (rt ai ~65K INR). Oh well.

Great news. I am guessing their upgrade vouchers required for this segment will be 3 or around 50k miles.

I had been tracking a few flights in December 2009 and noted that D-class seats would open up about 3-4 days before the flight, FYI.

Never bothered to fly this route though, so can't comment further.

yes, you are right....3 vouchers required for an upgrade....redemption is 27k miles in economy & 54k in business....

but they have a special offer till the 31st of may where you can redeem your miles at a 25% discount....so redemption in economy will be 20,250 & 40,500 for business....

Great news!! Have only flown Jet domestically (fabulous) and JetKonnect (no comment). In three weeks trying out J SIN-BOM, very excited about that too.

Just one question. Why the dreadful departure time? Wouldn't it make sense to have a morning departure ex BOM and an afternoon return from JNB to maximise connection possibilities? This is a pet peeve of mine, getting quite sick of these 0200-0400 departures

Good luck anyways!!

Since this route is starting in April, would there be any chance to redeem miles for a seat?

And why not?
