9W suites

So I managed to snag 2 suites on a LHR-BOM flight. What can I expect in terms of service, food etc? Recent reports suggest that 9W is on the decline.

Also, can we combine 2 suites into one for the missus and me?

Jet Airways has First Class suites with closing doors. These are on the B777's with 8 suites in First.

Service is OUT-STANDING and what I mean by that is the meet/greet service on departure and arrival in BOM & LHR respectively. That is something that is NOT matched by any carrier in India specially in BOM.

These are individual suites and unless you sit in the middle 2 suites you will not be able to sit next to each other.

Food/Service on board is prompt, efficent and they go all out to please you. IFE is fantastic as well.

If recent reports SUGGEST that their First Product is on the decline, I dont know what even comes close. If someone in their right mind even suggests BA or AI which are the only 2airlines that offer a First product on this route. Then I think they need to try out Jet. No where do those airlines even come close.

Its a superb product and you will have a great flight.

That's great to know! We're really looking forward to it. Seat Guru says that their seats are longer than even SQ! Thanks!

We chose to sit in the suites by the windows since we figured that we won't be able to see each other because the seats were suites and enclosed. Is this true? Or can we see each other in the middle?

You can definitely see each other if seated in the middle pair. There is an electronically operated (opaque) screen that can move up or down depending on pax preferences.

If travelling as a couple, I would definitely recommend the middle pair. On my most recent flight on 9W F, a couple had 1K and 2K, and there was a significant amount of back and forth.

P.S.: The couple was Vir Sanghvi & companion. And as the chicken piccata main course was quite undercooked and cold, I was rather tempted to ask him if he would mention it in his next Epicure article in the Sunday HT supplement. Of course, that might have meant no future op-ups for him!!

9W provides outstanding service in FC on the BOM-LHR route. I happened to be the only passenger in FC on the BOM->LHR flight on January 20 on 9W118 and all aspects of the service were exceptional. This service IMHO is comparable to the Emirates FC service for their long haul flights. The only negative aspect of the cabin was that there was no storage space above the seat for carry on luggage and so the flight attendent had to store it elsewhere. This was not much of a problem as I had already taken my laptop out and kept it with me in the small storage space aside the seat.

Jet is awesome

This may be a bit irrelevant as I haven't been on 9W since a few years back but their product (I took Premiere on Domestic) is some of the most fantastic flying I've ever had. ^

welcome to ft....i completely agree with you....as someone who practically lives on planes (specially jet), i can safely say they are among the best airlines in the world....definitely the best in india....the only problem i have with jet is that they have done away with first class on most of their routes....
