9W Op-ups

Does 9W generally do op-ups when there is overbooking in lower classes? Do they routinely overbook on the assumption that they can op-up some people?

For example, for a JP Gold member, are there any chances of op-up from, say J to F, on the BOM-LHR route?

Or does this never happen?

Certainly. As a Plat I've been quite lucky indeed, and am very happy with 9W internationally.

Doubt that at all, given the high frequency of elites on this route.

Yes, as Plat one is op-upped, but 9wGold is a different story...however, apart from this there is very little difference between the 2 levels, imo and experience.

Yikes, I'm being downgraded to Gold on Mar 1!

And it would probably take me atleast 3 months to regain Plat. Let's see what my time as a goldmember ends up like.

Since, we're talking J -> F op-ups here, although both premium cabins, I'm assuming you're saying there will still be a big reduction in that conversion % as a Gold as opposed to Plat...
