AGP - BCN - MAD - JFK - General advice on connections and lounges

Hi all,

Just looking for general tips and advice as multi leg flights are new for my parents who are doing this. So would like to help them out, as they are visiting my sister who they are dying to see having not seen her and her family for some time. So the smoother the flying and connecting experience the better.

OW Sapphire (BAEC Silver) / UK passports.

Flights are all departing tomorrow and all leave within the same day. First leg (AGP - BCN) is Vueling. The next two legs (BCN-MAD-JFK) are all IB codes and IB operated. All legs are economy.

So connection advice first;

1.) BCN is unfamiliar and are there any tips or definite do or don'ts for connecting between the inbound on VY and the outbound on IB?

2.) MAD is vaguely familiar but they haven't done a domestic to international connection before. Whats the process here? again any tips and advice would be great.

3.) Lounges at BCN and MAD, assuming access is fine on IB Y tickets and OW Sapphire?

AGP-BCN is a separate one way ticket. FYI. BCN-MAD-JFK is all on one PNR.

Thanks as always. Hopefully this helps out others too.

Rft

Fingers crossed. Vueling are notorious for delays.

The AGP-BCN flight will probably deplane into the main B gates area. BCN-MAD is way down at the end of A gates. There is a specific lounge down there for the Madrid flights. It would be helpful to have checked in online and printed out boarding passes already.

No checked luggage? Otherwise they will have to go collect their luggage and check-in again upstairs. Hopefully they have lots of time to spare because it won't be quick.
