Specific DEL5K Question

I've searched through the long DEL5K thread and couldn't find the answer and since that thread is now SO LONG I didn't the chance for my question to get buried there...
Going through the thread see that everyone has gotten the $150 food/bev credit applied to the stay that they earn DEL5K on. The T&C state that it's for a "future stay". We only have the opportunity to stay one night at a eligible property. We will be staying at another property that participates in this offer a week later on a points (or FFN) stay. I'm wondering if we'll be able to use the $150 credit then. It would be great if it's possible and Hyatt would get the $$ for the night stay we'd earn it on. If it's not possible we'll just use the Diamond HP/SS freebie night and not be out any $$ at all.
Thanks everyone,
Carolyn

Relevant TOS for Offer Code DEL5K don't state that $ 150 F&B credit is good for a future stay:

Offer is valid for up to USD$150 credit for lunch and/or dinner in participating hotel restaurants ... Meal charges must be posted to your room bill to receive credit. ...Offer is only valid in conjunction with a stay. Only valid on eligible charges posted to your room account. No refunds for any unused portion of the offer.

There are two similar offers to opt for:
  • On DEL5K you will earn one time 5K GP bonus points and $ 150 F&B credit for your current stay.
  • On DELISH a $ 150 F&B certificate is good for one future stay, but no bonus points

On the DEL5K T&C I click on it says the $150 F&B credit is for a future stay... that's why I asked. I know that there's a Delish offer that had the $150 credit without the 5K bonus. Guess I'll just have to try and reach my PL.
Thanks for your insight though

Thank you for posting that Link...

but still looking at the link for the DEL5K offer on Hyatt's website AND after talking w/PL agent today it seems like it can also be for the "next stay". That would work for us since we're checking in late when no dining options would be open (10PM) and since it's for one night we'd be checking out before the ability to use this credit since it's only good for lunch/dinner. I guess I'll call GP Kauai to see.

Anyone know if taxes and tips are counted towards the $150 or whether it is food and beverage charges exclusive of taxes and tips?

Thanks,

NJ

From Term & Conditions:

Guest is responsible for taxes and gratuities associated with meals. Credit will not be applied to alcoholic beverages.

While this quote is absolutely accurate, it has been posted that at some places, taxes, gratuities, and even alcoholic beverages have been counted toward the $150 credit. Therefore, as with many things Hyatt, YMMV!

Thanks, Beta! How do we know that it has been applied?

See posts #156 and #170 in the main DEL5K thread, for example. I think I have seen other posts as well.

Although you know what was done in the past, you cant assume that a resort drives on the same road in your case. The result has a lot to do if someone is satisfied if s/he gets what s/he is entitled for and is happy if it turns out his/her bill is lower as expected or s/he is successful to squeeze out every possible dime.

What you can always do: Ask at the resort: Ask the agent at check-in, if taxes, alcoholic beverages and gratuities will count toward $ 150 credit or consume and ask at check out if your bill does not satisfy you.

FWIW, I read reports on this BB that HR Huntington Beach has void resort fee as a Diamond benefit while I cannot testify this. Or, look at this thread: OP tries to convince the resort to hand out a $ 150 voucher at DEL5K promo. If successful, is it fair to conclude this works for everyone?

+1.

IME, it varies based on the hotel, and even varies based on the front desk agent who checks you out. Some check closely, some just remove $150, some remove taxes, some remove alcohol. There's no one single way it works unfortunately. You could charge $150 including tax & tips and gamble they will take everything off. And then if they won't, tell them you don't wanna check out afterall cuz you wanna grab a quick lunch first, then quickly spend your other ~$30-40 on lunch. ^

As T&C are crystal clear: Everybody who charges up to $150 for lunch and/or dinner in participating hotel restaurants to his/her room knows that applicable taxes, gratuities and alcoholic beverages are not covered.

If an agent at check-out removes these items from my bill for whatever reason, I happily walk away, but I dont blame those agents who follow their rules and let me pay accordingly. Their inconsistency is in my favour!
