Update in Hyatt BRG policy (April 2019): If your BRG claim is approved, you can choose either 5,000 World of Hyatt points or an additional 20% off the matched rate for your stay (defined as consecutive nights at the same location). Rates available on websites that require membership which is free of charge, or where membership is automatically created as part of the booking, are eligible for BRG claims.

Update in Hyatt BRG policy (July 2017): if your BRG claim is approved, Hyatt will match the comparable lower rate, but will no longer offer a further 20% discount on the matched lower rate. Instead, after your stay on the BRG approved rate, you will receive a US$50 credit (or equivalent amount in the currency of your country of residence) to use on a future stay (completed within 12 months) booked on a Standard Rate, Advance Purchase Rate or Member Rate on Hyatt.com.
Q. How do I receive the $50 credit?
A. About 3-4 days after your BRG stay, Hyatt will email you a unique rate code to apply for your new reservation. You can either click on the link in the mail to book the reservation or manually enter it into the booking at Hyatt.com.
Q. Can I use the code more than once?
A. No. The code is invalid when it has already been attached to a reservation.
Q. Can I use the code to lower a rate like AAA or Double Points?
A. No. The BRG code books into its own unique rate class and can't be used with any other promotional rates.
Q. What happens if I cancel my reservation with the BRG code applied?
A. The code will can be re-used for another reservation. For this reason, DO NOT DELETE THE EMAIL FROM HYATT UNTIL AFTER YOUR STAY.
Q. What happens if a lower base rate appears available after I book the BRG rate?
A. You can cancel the first reservation (assuming there's no penalty) and then rebook using the code for the lower rate.
.................................................. ..........
If you are dissatisfied with the response to your BRG claim, and it was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Omaha (9805 Q Street), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Nebraska Attorney General's Office (Consumer Protection Division). Note that the online complaint form requires you to fill in a correspondence address in the US (though you can state a preference to receive correspondence by e-mail rather than by post). As reported in Post # 2691, if the AG's Office decides to investigate, it is possible that Hyatt will review your BRG claim again and, in addition, offer points for the inconvenience.
If your BRG claim was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Marion (1120 North Carbon Street Suite 70), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Illinois Attorney General's Office.

tired of BRG gimmick
my guess they will use Reason that
1. the Promo is NOT for general public, only citizen Indonesia and PR (which I am indonesia citizen)
2. the Promo can be booked in Hotel directly so is part of Hyatt channel
3. I had cancelled the Booking (why would i hold the booking? I can get Cheaper rate with IG promo)

Thank you for your interest in our Best Rate Guarantee program. After researching the rate details you have provided, I was unable to validate your submission.
To qualify for a valid claim you would need to find a publicly available and immediately bookable room rate on the internet.
The screen shot you provided does not have the dates or the rates listed for the hotel. The phone number and email address noted are directing you to the hotel directly to make a booking. This claim is not valid. Best Regards,

Sure. It is tough to get approved for Hyatt BRG but your case doesn't even qualify based on T&C.

BRG is a joke
You need to provide a bookable link. Screenshot shows promo rate but not availability. Most promo rates are capacity controlled and may not be available for your dates. Restricted availability to certain nationality is another issue. For example, you cannot BRG Hawaiian local rate or Floridian local rate. I doubt you can BRG against a rate for Indonesians only.

Why we need to provide Online Internet Rate.
The spirit of BRG is to Guarantee Hyatt Members that you will NOT get any lower rate than Hyatt.com so that members can book with Confidence
And those BRG specialist and Hotel Managers keep finding loophole:
eg. offering OFFLINE booking to Hyatt which is okay, offering local rate which is okay
I did email to the GH Bali directly and got written email from GH Bali that on my specific date, the Promo Rate can be Apllied
so argument #1 about availability has been cleared
argument #2 bookable ONLINE, I get in written email that Payment can be made online, the Hotel will provide LINK for me to input my Credit Card
So how do you see this will enough to claim BRG?
Regards

as far as I know, you can’t make a claim on a screenshot of offer, or to somewhere only bookable by email or phone, or can it only be to a specific set of individuals (in this case those with Indonesian ID). Play by the terms, you should be able to get it approved. If you are so worked up on hyatt, try BRG with Hilton .

I have Indonesian ID,
This BRG clause really getting my nerves,
they use OFFLINE method to workaround their Own game
Seems Hotel Managers had been studying all practices

I play within the rules and have a leg to stand on if they deny me. The reps I'm dealing with apparently have their hands full trying to deal with people who don't or won't understand the rules, even when multiple people take the time to point out the issues.

Please elaborate your BRG case with Hyatt,
I am waiting
Your profile had been active in Best Western, not active in Hyatt thread
But you jump into this conversation with no intention to help, just to attack verbally
If you don want to help, just keep silent, refrain to type is mature enough

as for the rate you are getting at Grand Hyatt Bali, it’s a rate that I would love to have without BRG. If I can get into Indonesia, I would love to use that rate for a 60 day work from hotel stint. Enjoy it because you qualify for it.

it has been brought up that you do not (want) to understand the rule for Hyatt BRG. Other posters including myself already mentioned that your claim does not fall under the terms of BRG for Hyatt (or other major chains for the most part). You don’t like the answer, which is your right.

My initial post was something of a frustration vent, and I have no problem with it being removed. This one can be too, no complaints.
I currently play the points games because my work demands that I stay about fifty nights a year in cheap Florida hotels. I can parlay those stays into great points earnings using promos and BRG offerings at various chains. For every chain, for every promo, for every program, I have to learn the rules to maximize my earnings.
I admit that I rarely get to stay with Hyatt for work - but when I notice an inexpensive BRG opportunity, I give it a whirl and try to earn myself 5k points. I 'follow' all the BRG threads on Flyertalk, to keep abreast of program changes. Learning and applying the rules allows me to turn my piddly work spend into many thousands of dollars worth of leisure travel.
