Point-Combining-Request (Scam!!)

I just got an email from Hyatt about a „Point-Combining-Request“ and that points were transferred from my account. That request didn’t came from me and I thought it’s just spam. I have then checked my WoH account and saw that 180k points were actually deducted two days ago.

Did someone else experience the same scam
recently? Otherwise be careful, something is going on here…

Somebody has hacked your account or you provided your WoH details to the wrong person as part of a trade or similar.

I suggest that what you really need to go is contact WoH, instead of starting a thread telling people to be careful not to be hacked...

Contact hyatt now to deal with it, maybe you have chance to get those points back.

Also ask is there a way to change your membership number or something else.

Sorry about warning you. Why don’t you just read and comment posts that are relevant for you? Thanks!

As a matter of course I have informed WoH about it first. However, if I remember correctly from the last time I combined points, the process at Hyatt is still very manual with a pdf document to complete an send per email. I am currently staying at a Hyatt property, which is also not a great experience at the same time. Could the scam be related to
my stay?

I don’t think so.

Have you traded any awards with people you don’t know? They only need your name and account number for the trade. But for points transfer, they need your phone and address. Once you have someone’s full name, it’s not that hard to search for address and phone number.

No, not at all… I am a bit concerned as for points transfer you need to complete the form with personal details and also signature (!) However, in the end another WoH member should get the points and WoH should be able to trace it back correct?!

I appreciate your suggestion and regret that it was met with such a snarky response.
