Simultaneous stays

Hi, all! Newbie question here: I plan to stay in a Hyatt Place for a week. In the middle of the week, there is a chance I will have to go to another town for a meeting and I will not check out from the hotel. In case I spend the night at a Hyatt Regency without having checked out of the Hyatt Place, will I get 2 qualifying nights or the system will see two simultaneous stays and just count one? Thanks in advance.

No you will only get 1 elite qualifying night, usually the one with the earlier check in so in this case you get all the eqns for the HP stay and 0 eqn for HR. You do get points for the HR stay.

I had both experiences. Once I got just the EQN for ONE night but points for both.

Then last year I was simultaneously checked in at PHT and Centric Ginza - ended up getting stay credit for both. But officially I think you only get it stay credit for one hotel.
