World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes
Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
- Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
- The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
- This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
- For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
- World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
- 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
- 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
- 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- Discoverist status every year
- 5 qualifying night credits every year
- No foreign transaction fees
- Travel & purchase coverage

WoH Credit card! [Launched 2018] (Chase)

Same here - I had hit over $5000 in charges after the December statement closed, but was thinking they would be credited on my January statement... sucks if those nights will disappear into the 2018 abyss. Anyone had their January statement close yet?

In another thread today, a person who stayed 60 nights last year and could have re-qualified at 55 reported being kept at Globalist with just 51 nights (which included 5 from the new WoH credit card) and relatively low spend. (This person got the Cat 1-7 and the upgrades, too; this isn't Globalist Lite as a courtesy.) Looks like Hyatt is being loose this year.
It does sound like people who have the WoH CC mistakenly got an additional 5 nights posted to 2018 instead of for 2019 (in addition to the original 5 nights you get for signing up). This would mean that everyone who signed up for the card last year got 10 elite nights for 2018. I'm wondering how Hyatt is going to handle this.

I doubt too many people got within 5 nights of re-qualifying and gave up, but who knows? It could still be hundreds or thousands of people.

I emailed my concierge and they said that it was nights from the CC. I didn't ask if it was 2 nights (from spend) or an additional 5 nights. Either way though, I don't think it made a difference for me since I was at ~82 nights.

Yeah, I'm the guy in the other thread who finished 2018 with 51 nights, but needed 55 nights to re-qualify for Globalist in 2019 (I had Globalist status in 2017 and 2018). I got my "Welcome to Another Year of Globalist Status" email for 2019 on 1/1/19 late in the evening and was quite surprised.

I wonder if they will claw back your globalist status, free night, TSUs, etc, or just let you keep everything.

Called W of H. Chase sent the 5 night credit on 12/31 and it got posted for 2018. Not sure if this is by design, or mistake. If by design, then we should receive 5 night credit each year at year end. So we just do not need that many night credit.
Not sure if Chase can confirm anything. Hyatt has no control on this.

Unfortunately Hyatt is right, the offer is from Chase, not Hyatt. So you need to call Chase and explain that they are not meeting the terms and conditions of the card.
Personally I'm just being lazy, and waiting for enough other people to do it that Chase fixes it system wide Unfortunately a lot of other people are probably doing the same thing. I'm hoping that some bloggers get ahold of this (they do love this card, with good reason) and will call, etc, just to get details to write about and drive traffic to their page.

No, it's a joint offer. Chase doesn't have the power to unilaterally offer anyone Hyatt qualifying nights. It might be easier for Hyatt if Chase issues the fix, but it's not just a Chase problem.
