World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

Are you sure you want to? 60,000 after $6,000 is a better deal, unless it's easy for you to spend the extra $4,000 in a way that doesn't cost you points elsewhere.

The current offer I’m seeing is 50k for 6k spend so if you’re able to switch to the 70k for 10k spend it’s a much better deal, 20k more Hyatt Points For 4k more spend over a course of 6 months.

I thought the current offer was 60,000. If it's 50,000, then it's a closer call, at least for people with a lot of Hyatt spend.

Current offer, everywhere I’ve looked, is 50k for 6k spend. It was previously 60k, but it went down. Also note if you apply via a referral link Chase will not change the offer to the 70k for you.

I think it was only 60k when the card was launched. It hasn't been 60k in like more than a year.

I thought the offer had been bumped up to 60,000 relatively recently, but maybe that was the two Cat 1-7 certs, which I know was the offer (again) for a while this year. In any event, it's 50,000/$6,000 or 70,000/$10,000 now.

Don't think the 60k offer came back publicly. Unfortunately I just signed up for the 50k/$6k offer. I would love to do 70k/$10k, but since that's targeted, I'm not sure Chase would even offer that to me.

Want to make sure I’m understanding the wiki correctly. I have spent $24,950 YTD. My next statement closes on January 3. As long as I make enough charges to go over the $25k threshold before EOY, I should still get an extra 2 elite nights, correct? I’m currently sitting at 58 nights with no travel planned through the rest of the year.

How important is Glob status to you ? I know what the wiki says, but I also know how well Hyatt IT works. Personally, I wouldn't trust that night credits that post in 2020 are properly credited to 2019. I wouldn't hesitate to do a MR for those last 2 nights.

That's incredibly frustrating, as the only reason I went under $25k is due to a return that was processed incorrectly by the merchant. I can do a MR if necessary, but that is money (or points) out of pocket that I'd rather not spend. Is it worth getting in touch with Hyatt directly to confirm?

I would first call chase and see if they can move your statement date up to say December 23. (Pretty common for people trying to optimize the companion pass on Southwest.)
That should be enough time to post and see if it works (I would make sure I am well over the $25k so the $95 annual fee or something doesn't cause you to just miss). If the nights still don't post then you know the MR is required, but won't cut it so close.

Hyatt has tracked spending by year for years with the United cards and it did so with the WoH card last year. There's no reason to waste money on a mattress run.

And Chase/Hyatt also botched the 5 night credit from the WoH card, crediting those nights to the wrong year. Personally, I'd rather spend less than $200 on a MR, preferably at a HP before the current promo ends, and have no issues with qualification.

The night credits are a different story, and people ended up getting them in 2018 and 2019 due to the error, so no one was shorted anything. To each his own, but blowing money likes this makes no sense when any problem would assuredly be solved with an email or phone call, especially if the OP is an existing Globalist.
