That's your rebuttal?

Good Afternoon,

If your check-in at a property is after midnight, the systems reflects the date of check-in as being the date of arrival. If you happen to have any issues with your World of Hyatt Account's not being credited the correct number of nights, please let us know.

Safe Travels!

Wow.
Umm, okay, then, so...

- the thread title, "No Night Credit if you Check-in After Midnight!", is not only accurate, it's precise.
- Hyatt uses a bad algorithm, and Hyatt is okay with that.
- Hyatt will actually leave it up to the customer to know that Hyatt's system is broken, and need to address it manually, every time.

Thanks for the info.

Given check-in is the date of arrival, does this mean that a one-night stay will always credit since there is definitely a check-in?

That is correct.

If check in is date of arrival, how is the previous night credited?

If I have a 1 night stay and arrive after midnight, then I would in effect be checking in and checking out on the same date. As it stands, the system would not recognize that as a 1 night stay.

It's amazing how the system never has problems collecting money, but somehow has bugs that negatively impact customers.

The answer should also include:

If your check-out at a property is before midnight, the systems reflects the date of check-out as being the date of departure (even if you paid for the additional night). If you happen to have any issues with your World of Hyatt Account's not being credited the correct number of nights, please let us know. (so we can make it very difficult for you to get what you paid for).

would web check-in (although otherwise not very useful) prior to midnight solve the issue?

OLCI has been discussed in this thread.

And that wouldn't solve the issue; it would be a workaround.
And it's a workaround that requires that every Hyatt customer KNOW that Hyatt's system has this glitch, and proactively change their behavior.

In post #112 WoH Concierge confirmed that a single night stay should always credit.

OP, did you have a one-night stay?

I guess that's subject to interpretation at this point.

I checked-in around 3:30 AM. I checked out around 9:30 AM. Same day.

What interpretation? It's one night in the way the words would usually be used. You arrived late and stayed one night.

Right - it wasn't more than one night. I just didn't know if the other poster was suggesting this was a day-room type of stay or something.
