No chance, systems are setup to detect this. You will need to change hotels (or book that middle night from someone elses account).

Can this be done in any Hyatt Int'l property or only US based ones?

As far I know in all properties. I recently only had lunch at the Andaz Amsterdam (did not sleep there), entered my HGP number on the check and a few days later my points posted.

No, because there has to be 1 night where you're not in the hotel in any form.

The Hyatt FAQ says "Hyatt’s computers attach the status at the time of reservation to the reservation record." Does anyone know is this is still accurate? If I were to book a reservation as diamond and then fall back to platinum before the stay, would I still receive diamond benefits due to the reservation system?

Nope, status is also checked at time of checkin (or when rooms are actually allocated a day (or two) before checkin).

I am looking for an alternative to SPG because I expect a huge devaluation of the program after the Marriott merger. Does Hyatt have something similar like SPG Moments? Thanks

Not really - on occasion you will get private offers from hotels where you might be a top client (top 10 or top 50) - just got one a couple mins ago for Superbowl. The Vegas stuff has promos now and again as well "MLife."

Diamond requalification

Suppose one were a Diamond in 2015, but did not requalify that year (Diamond status expiring March 1). If one were to requalify in 2016 by having 25 stays or 50 nights between January 1 and February 29th (difficult but not impossible), would 4 Suite Upgrades post on March 1 2016 and March 1 2017, or just March 1 2017?

I am in this exact process right now. I'll be finished requalifying in early March. The first four will post either when you requalify or on March 1st, 2016, whichever comes last. The second set will post March 1st, 2017.

Diamond requalification

So, essentially, one could have Diamond status forever, by staying 25 stays, or 50 nights, every 2 years. Probably only a handful of people have done this.

Sorry this may look like a duplicate, but the thread I originally posted in is closed, so I figured this would be the best place to follow up.

I applied a DSU to a reservation earlier this week. The reservation now shows the full suite price rather than the rate I booked, but I was told that this is normal. However, I just looked at my account, and I also see that no DSU is showing as being redeemed. Should this raise a red flag, or am I needlessly worrying?

UPDATE: I just got a new email confirmation that shows the correct rate and a "DSU APPLIED" note. My account also shows the mystery "free night award" that comes up when you book a DSU for a reservation beyond the expiration date, so all looks good now.

You could, it has to be worth it though. It's costing me approximately $1250 + 62500 points (minus whatever points I earn through the run, which is why a promotion would be really helpful in this case)

joecool1885 Jan 23, 2016 3:19 pm

In the process of a mattress run. Seems like this hotel is not on their game when it comes to the Diamond Amenity/Bonus Points. My first two stays, no Diamond bonus posted. I plan to call HGP, but just wondering whether I should let this run and call at the end to claim the extra 250 points per stay (so about 5K extra points), or better to call first?

Any way we can check the price for a few days like Hilton? I try to see which day has the lowest rate for a certain hotel.
