Hyatt - AMEX Promotions?

Hi all, how often does Hyatt run promotions with Amex?

Probably a good idea not to start the same thread in every forum.

I am just wondering what hotel brands provide the best promotions for Amex holders.

Avios

In the UK its got to be Avios, with some decent sign up bonuses. I;m afraid I don't have much knowledge of the US market. Your best bet is to look at the BA forum or a UK site like headforpoints or a US site like thepointsguy

Hilton and Starwood. Chains partnered with Chase won't promote with Amex. Chase is with Hyatt, IHG, and Marriott.

Yeah that's wrong. There was an AMEX Hyatt Place promotion earlier this year. Expired Feb. 28.

The American Express Simply Cash Business Card (sometimes known as the "Open for Business" card for some reason) always gives 5% cash back at Hyatt full service hotels (i.e. everything except Hyatt Place or Hyatt House).

This is true of all Amex OPEN cards: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/s...en_opensavings
That includes the SPG Amex business card!

Thanks ... I did not know that. Rather than using my Amex Simply Cash, I'll use the Hyatt Visa at an upcoming stay internationally. Thanks again for the heads up.

In the long run using Hyatt Visa with Hyatt frequent stay program gets you more than 5% off anyway.

It depends on how each individual values points.

Hyatt Place or House: use Hyatt Visa and get 3 points per dollar spent. I calculate this as 4.5% (other people may figure it differently)

Other Hyatt: use Amex Simply Business and get 5% cash back. I calculate this as an ever-so-slightly higher benefit than using the Hyatt Visa.
