Let's say I make a reservation with a flexible rate and apply the DSU. A few weeks later can I call to change my rate to a (lower) non-refundable rate and still have the suite?

I booked 4 nights with non-refundable rate and now I find the last nights doesn't have suite available for upgrade. Could I just apply the DSU on the first 3 nights? Does anyone have such experiences? Thanks.

Just was able to burn 3 of them in the next week. Wish I didn't procrastinate so much on these.

You certainly could but you may be required to switch rooms for the last night.

Thank you for the information. I'm OK with switching for the last night which is certainly better than no upgrade at all.

Totally ridiculous that this "premier" benefit of being a "premier" Diamond member doesn't apply at their most "premier" properties. Trying to get a DSU at the PH Sydney and the fine print prevents it. Whatever. Hyatt has so few properties in their portfolio compared to others, and a minimum number of brands, and yet so many nitpick rules.

The PHS has not accepted DSU since they reopened. |

Ah... you must have made the extreme effort of getting a free status match, and only now are looking at the T&C.

Interesting to hear that they DID accept DSU before the reno. That adds insult to injury IMO: same brand, same hotel, same room size (I assume), and now BAM...no DSU for you! |

Nope, 55 nights last year, 6 time Diamond member always earned, 1MM+ lifetime points. Good troll though

Then it's about time you read the T&C's..... the list of hotels that don't accept DSU's is growing. And the way GP has been handing them out without any compensation for a property I cannot really say I blame them.

Hi,
I've a few days ago made bookings at two different Park Hyatts using C+P and DSU for August this year. Received the confirmation email on both bookings where the DSU is indicated but when I login to Hyatt, both the DSUs still show as unused and still available for redemption with expiration on 2/29. Not sure if anyone else experienced it and what to make of it. My concern is if it gets realized by Hyatt after 2/29 when current DSUs expire and it ends up getting deducted from the DSUs issued after 2/29 instead. |
