(ps, FWIW, not a Diamond. I am attracted to the fact that the Andaz Papagayo is Virtuoso. So, I can pay for night 1 under a Virtuoso rate, then use the certs. and a combo of points for the next 3-4 nights. Hopefully, under an upgraded room, too.)

Are you sure about this??? Last year it went from Cat 6 to Cat 5 but I can find no evidence it has now dropped again. Where do you get your information?

I'm surprised that so many PHs around the world are only category 4. Looking at lists of category 4 PH (and Andaz) would be a good starting point for the OP. With no Hyatt status, the places that people suggest partly because of lounges are probably irrelevant, which would be almost all of the Hyatt Regencies and Grand Hyatts on the list.

Did HR Maui change to a 4? I don't see it on the list (I'd be thrilled if it did).

Would +1 those who have mentioned the HR Mission Bay in San Diego...Great water slides for the kids, and a water taxi that takes you into a private entrance to Seaworld.
