Did you check out on the 9th or 10th?

On the 10th... so the night of the 9th should count, but currently doesn't. If I had just had a single night I'm sure it would have counted without a problem....

CS should be able to adjust it manually.

I'm pretty sure they will, they are quite good at the manual corrections :-).

The request is already sent together with a request for some missing base points (they gave me 3 points for a one night stay, must have been quite a rate...) on one stay and the missing Diamond Amenity points on another. Well two mistakes out of seven (plus the promo) isn't quite exceptional....

You could make a reservation under another GP profile and list yourself as a secondary guest to check in.. Or checkout under another GP profile. They would receive the points benefit and stay credit.

Yes. Ensure that she has a GP # and she is signed up for this promo. When checking out, have front desk double check all is straight forward.

Extra Bonus

Just received this via email...

There's never been a better time to book your next stay because we're giving you a little something extra. Stay just one eligible night by November 30 and you can earn 1,000 bonus points.

Plus, with our New Possibilities promotion you can earn 5,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points after your first five eligible nights, and thousands more for every additional five nights. After 20 nights, that's 50,000 bonus points.

Whether you choose to turn your points into a free night at one of our newest hotels, including Grand Hyatt Cannes and Park Hyatt Hyderabad, or an exquisite dinner at Hyatt Union Square New York, discover new possibilities with Hyatt Gold Passport.

Perhaps someone can enlighten me but I don't find this promotion particularly attractive or worth my time. In fact, it seems it would be easier and cheaper to buy the points directly from Hyatt.

You can buy almost the same number of points or more for less than what you would spend in this promotion:
Promo vs Purchase (@ $0.024/point)
5 nights: 5K points vs 5K points: $120 ($24/night)
10 nights: 15K points vs 15K points: $360 ($36/night)
15 nights: 30K points vs 30K points: $720 ($48/night)
20 nights: 50K points vs 40K points: $960 ($60/night for 16 stays)

For instance if I wanted 5K points, I could stay 5 nights and spend $X but I could also buy the points for $120. To make the promo worthwhile, I would have spend less than $24 per night at each of my stays. Otherwise, it's just cheaper to buy the points.
For the last 50K points listed above, I calculated the points you would get per stay since you can only buy up to 40K points on a given year. So 50K points for 20 nights end up being 2.5K points per night. You'd get 40K points after 16 nights and unless you spend less than $60 per night, it's still cheaper to buy the points. There aren't that many Hyatt properties where you can stay for less than $60 per night (taxes plus other fees like resort fees included).

Furthermore, Hyatt also has occasional point sales where you can get more points like the 30% bonus recently offered, which makes this promo even less attractive. That's $960 for 52K points or around $48 for 20 night each.

Other than getting Platinum status if you spend at least 15 nights or 5 stays, the cost and effort of acquiring these points through this promo remain higher than buying them.

"I don't find this promotion particularly attractive or worth my time"... "it's just cheaper to buy the points".

Amazingly, some people actually stay in hotels because they need somewhere to sleep for the night other than a family camp out in the car. This promotion likely isn't worth it for mattress runs but Hyatt is probably dissuaded from such promotions by forums like this.

Also an ok promo to top off the account for Diamond status - agreed that it's probably not worth it just for the points by themselves.

Exactly

If I already have three or four or eight or nine nights already booked, does it help me steer a few additional nights to a Hyatt property - probably yes. Will I mattress run driving 30 minutes to the nearest property and drop whatever amount for a room I won't stay in - absolutely no.

This promotion (sadly) works as intended.
