Problem with FFN Credit Posting
I completed two stays (separated by a 24 hour period) at the Hyatt Harborside in Boston about a week ago.
The stay credit and air miles were properly credited to my Gold Passport account, about 3 days after my stay.
However, a week after the second stay, and I still did not receive a FFN credit.
I called the Gold Passport line today, and they told me that my first stay was not registering as paid by Mastercard in the computer. They asked me to fax in my folio for that stay, showing that I did in fact pay by Mastercard, which I have done.
I was told their computers update the FFN credit every Wednesday and Sunday, so hopefully I'll be credited with the FFN credit on Wednesday.
Anyways, a heads up for those of you who may be waiting for an overdue FFN credit.

Mine always seem to post ok, but I always check when the stay posts to the web site.
By looking at the stay detail for a stay on the web site, you should see an entry for MC stays. If that entry isn't there, then you need to call.
To get there, login, go to 'account detail', then choose 'hotel stays' from the pull-down menu. Then click on a hotel name for the details for that stay. Just like with the old Amex promotions, you will see a line with "MasterCard Charge" for properly credited stays. If it's not there, then it wasn't properly registered.
Base Points 385
Diamond Bonus 115
2,000 Bonus Points 2000
MasterCard Charge
United 300 Bonus 300
Total Earnings 2800 points

Thanks for the tip David. I wasn't aware you could look at the detail for a paritcular hotel stay.
Both of my hotel stays now have the "Mastercard Charge" denotation in the Stay Detail, so I assume I should probably be getting my FFN this Wednesday (fingers crossed!).
Thanks again for the tip.

You're welcome.
We go through this everytime they have a similar promotion with a credit card tie-in.
It's not obvious that the stay detail is there. Maybe this should really be part of a Goldpassport FAQ somewhere.
And yes, once it's properly credited, the FFN nights should appear on your welcome page after you login. They seem to post (probably in sweeps) within a few days after the stays post.

Very cool tip on Hotel Stays. Question (for the group) --> can you earn GP bonus points AND airline miles with Hyatt? Having recently joined (and comped to Diamond) I was under the impression it was an and/or scenario. Reading the post above however implies it is more akin to Hilton double-dipping earning the GP2000 bonus, base points, Elite bonus, AND 300 United miles to boot.
Tiz true on every stay?

No, they aren't airline miles, HHonors is still the only double-dip program. They are gold passport points, and yes, you can get them on every stay. Just ask for the airline partner bonus (giving the name of your airline from one of the participating airlines in the list) when you check in either at the front desk or via 1-800-CHECK-IN. Your bill will show that partner bonus miles were credited to your account. Note that AA is not a partner airline.
If you use 1-800-CHECK-IN many of the agents ask if you are flying on a qualifying airline and add the partner bonus for you, so check your history to be sure. It may already be there in the stay detail for some of your stays.
I wanted to show how you could boost your GP earnings from a $76 stay.
All my stays have qualifying airline partner flights, but I've never been asked to show a ticket or boarding pass.
If you find that you are missing any partner bonuses from recent stays, you can email Gold Passport (using the links from the web site) and give the stay dates and flight information and ask them to credit the partner bonus. When I first started doing this, I didn't know about it either, and got several months of credit from the nice folks at GP, since I had all the flight info.
This should also be in the non-existant Gold Passport FAQ. (Too bad we don't have sticky topics on FT.)

Points When You Fly or Drive
If you choose points for your stay, you can earn 300 Gold Passport bonus points when you fly participating airlines in conjunction with your Hyatt stay. Just present your boarding pass or ticket at check-in. Participating airlines are: America West Airlines, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Midwest Express Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines or US Airways.
Flight must occur within 24 hours of hotel stay. Only one airline bonus may be earned per stay. Gold Passport bonus points are available only on stays for which Gold Passport points are chosen.
You can earn a 300-point bonus when you rent a car from Alamo Rent A Car or Avis. A Hyatt stay is not required just request Gold Passport points at the rental counter.
Some restrictions apply.

David,
Thanks for the great explanation. I was mis-reading the above as United 300 STOP Bonus 300 (equalling 600 PTS) as opposed to
"United 300 Bonus": 300
Now me gets
Either way, didnt know it was combinable with GP2Ks so was very pleased to read your post. Have sent GP an email just today as I fly WN weekly to LA.
Cheers.

Another good reason to use 1-800-CHECK-IN?

Go ahead and email your detailed info, including a note about your confusion of being eligible for one or the other but not both. It can take GP a week or two to answer email sometimes, but they will answer it.
