I'm trying to figure out where to stay for one night next month - my Mom and I are coming up to Tampa for a show at the Hard Rock Seminole Casino and I don't know if I want to book us here or closer to the venue, or heaven forbid, pay cash for a night at a hotel I won't get any elite night credit for.

Last time I stayed there (Globalist) I got upgraded to bay view room.
I have an upcoming stay and the app went from standard room to Casita and now it’s showing standard again. Just the casita area pool is open currently. I don’t mind because I rarely use hotel pools if I’m anywhere near the ocean. I enjoyed my last stay. It’s a convenient location to explore the Bay Area and super close to the airport.

Used a TSU and was upgraded to Casita. It has lots of room as is 2 levels. Is also near the working pool and small beach. But after 2 days, we moved back to the main building because of mosquitos bites and the 2nd floor A/C stopped working 2 am in the morning. Luckily there is a ceiling fan which allowed the air to circulate from the cooler lower floor (2 zone A/C). I asked to face the airport and they assigned us a newly renovated room on the 12th. If you are a plane spotter, this is the perfect location. And we barely hear the planes take off. Amazing how good those windows are. Here is a view of FedEx landing and a few lined up to take off from our window. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Excellent staff and the restaurant workers are so nice.

I actually started to head that way but i though it was just hugging the highway. Ended up going on the bridge towards Clearwater. Turned around after reaching the boat dock. 8 miles r/t in the humidity was a bit much.

Oops, I should have said nice airport views. It does hug the highway in that direction but also borders the airport's property. It eventually gets to Cypress Point Park on the water.

I just finished up a 3 night stay. I got to choose Bay view or Casita. Just as I was checking in, 380 high school students showed up for a conference. I chose Casita. The tower pool is under construction so the Casita pool is the only one available. It’s so hot in Florida right now I never used the pool.
As a Globalist I was given $30 vouchers and used one my first night at Oystercatchers and the other two nights at 1835. Both have good food and a good wine list. You can order off the menu for breakfast or Buffett on the weekends.
This is my 2nd stay here and for 12,000 points, you can’t beat it.

So just for my own clarity, the $30 vouchers are per night and not per guest (ie if you have 2 people, you still get $30), and are in addition to the free breakfast as a Glob?
And are they cumulative over the stay, or use it /lose it daily like the Hilton F&B credits? I know I coule ask the property and roll the dice whether the answer is right but figured y'all would know

They are in addition to free breakfast. I can’t speak to additional guests as I was traveling alone. They are per night.

Just finished up a 2 night stay here. Really nice property for a cat. 3. The first night I used a FNA since it was 12k pts and second night was off peak at 9k so used points. Bit of an odd situation since I needed a room with 2 doubles for night one and a king for the second, so I decided to fully check out, my gf picked me up and we went to lunch and came back to check in again. Received a bay view room in both cases. I asked about a suite upgrade for the king room and was told the only one available was a premium suite with an upcharge, which I declined, even though I could see standard suites in the app.
Breakfast was pretty good off the buffet, which I think makes the most sense since you can order an omelette or eggs in addition. The sausage gravy they have for the biscuits is one of the best I've had in recent memory, maybe second only to the HR Lexington.
Since Mom and I arrived really late I had them write the departure date on my first $30 chit which I used for a couple bloody mary's with breakfast. Used the 2nd chit for after dinner drinks with the gf at the bar.
A very Florida style GH with the blue-ish, tropical vibe carpet, furnishings, etc. We took advantage of the beach kits that the front desk loans out as part of the resort fee, which includes 2 beach chairs, an umbrella and a soft sided cooler and drove to the small beach that's a couple miles west of the hotel. Would have liked to borrow the bikes but it was way too hot out to go biking.
We valeted the car on the first night and then self parked the second. Either one is covered by the Globalist benefit, though I did have to remind the front desk agent to take off the valet charge. If this property stays a cat. 3 I could see us coming back as a bit of a staycaytion.

Dont understand how this property is getting praise.
The Breakfast buffet is decent but I've seen better for a Grand Hyatt. Thankfully the menu option can replace this sub-standard buffet here.
The rooms, despite "renovations" still show their age along with the common areas. This property, despite the greenery and water surrounding it, is nothing but a bed factory and is past its prime. Sadly, Hyatt doesnt have many 'better' options here in the area, as the Regency Clearwater Beach is also aging (but still has some charm to it).
Anyone paying full price or peak point redemtions should really consider another brand in the Tampa Bay area.
