2012 Promotion Speculation - Consolidated Thread

Hello all,

I think the AAdvantage triple miles for stay at Hyatt expired on Jan 15.Is it true that there is no systemwide promotion whatsoever now at Hyatt?

Marriott has Mega Bonus or Mega Miles, HHonors has More Points (1,000/5,000 points) promotion, and SPG has Better by the Night promotion.

Please let me know if I miss anything.

Thanks.

You're not missing anything. Hyatt doesn't have anything go on now. Plus, they never did have quarterly promotions such as the other major chains.

I am honestly very surprised that Hyatt has been this quiet. Maybe they will be like the Yankees...quiet all winter and then huge announcements one day.

Just received an email from Ritz Carlton regarding their upcoming promo: earn one free night after two stays, up to two free nights max for tier 1 to 3 properties. Do you guys think Hyatt will offer another lacklustre promo like last year's or do you think Hyatt will get back on track and at least try to match the competitors??

That is my big fear, that they bring in a FFN promo that sucks. Something like earn a max of 2 or 3 nights and only up to a cat 4 or 5 or something with idiotic restrictions.

I think they could offer a fair FFN, where the category you stay at determines the category you can redeem at (i.e. 2 nights cat 1 means 1 free night cat 1; 1 night cat 6 + 1 night cat 4 = 1 free cat 5 night). I can't remember if I have suggested this before online, but it would seem fair, although less profitable for FTers.

Complicated promotions may not get as many takers, even from those who don't really follow the miles and points game as closely as FTers.

Stayed at a HP last evening. Asked employees if they heard of any pending promotions and was told there was a 3 or 4 night (not consecutive) bonus point promotion coming next month. Don't have any more specifics and have yet to verify.....

I heard the same thing on the other side of the world at a S.E. Asian Hyatt.

I have now canceled 2 Hyatt reservations this month due to lack of promotions. Hope you're happy Hyatt.
