Hi Folks,

Am planning to stay in Hyatt property for the 1st time in a couple of days..

I am elite statuses with Marriot, IHG and Accor.. I read here that Hyatt also offers Platinum / Diamond challenge but could not get complete info on this.. maybe I didnt check enough

Would be great if someone can advise me how to get status matched or get a "challenge" from Hyatt ?
I am travelling tomorrow so need to act fast.. Sorry for the late query..

Seek advise..

It would be nearly impossible to get the Diamond Challenge setup within your travel dates.

Call Gold Passport and ask for the diamond challenge. Be prepared to fax/email a copy of your elite cards from other chains promptly. Your best bet is to ask the agent for their email and send it to them while you are still on the phone. If you are lucky enough to get a good agent you may be able to set up the diamond challenge. Keep in mind that it usually takes at least a few days to get this rolling so don't be too disappointed if it doesn't happen for you this fast. Also, keep in mind that it takes (I believe) 12 nights within 60 calendar days to retain the diamond status.

Do you actually expect to retain Diamond status or are you trying to get some one-off perks for this stay?

If you're doing it just for this stay, you may be better off not challenging and keeping the option open to challenge should you find your travel patterns shift in the next year or two.

Thanks for the replies..actually I just found a good Hyatt property at at a very good corp rate with my company and hence wanted to try it out..
I guess the 60 days period (and qualifying stays) will be from the time they update my account..maybe as suggested, I will go for it the next time based on this experience..
Cheers
