Are Agoda rates "eligible rates"

I am curious to know if the rates booked through Agoda are eligible rates and eligible stays. I would presume NOT since one has to pay Agoda and get a voucher/coupon and not pay the hotel directly. I have not called Hyatt to ask that is next on my list.

I believe that any rate that is paid to a third party is not eligible.

No need to call- the Agoda prepaid rates are surely not eligible for stay credit/ points on the room rate.

As a general rule of thumb, if you are paying the hotel directly for a stay that is a very good indication that it will be eligible for credit.

If you are prepaying to a third party, stays are never eligible for credit.

The only prepaid stays that are eligible are the ones sold directly by Hyatt reservations and on hyatt.com, as in this case the property itself is directly charging your credit card (no third party is involved)

Thanks for the responses. Also the terms and conditions state:

"4. If a member chooses to receive Hyatt Gold Passport points at check-in, such member will earn five Hyatt Gold Passport points for each whole U.S. dollar or U.S. dollar equivalent spent by the member on Eligible Rates. An "Eligible Rate" shall be defined as any hotel published room rate, including, but not limited to rates found on hyatt.com, the Hyatt Daily Rate, Volume Account Rates, AAA and Senior Citizen rates. "Ineligible Rates" are discounted rates, including, but not limited to, any free night stays, Third Party Internet Rates (examples include priceline.com, hotels.com, Expedia, and Travelocity), traditional wholesale rates (examples include GOGO Worldwide Vacations, Pleasant Holidays, etc.), airline crew rates, airline employee rates, travel agency employee rates, Club at the Hyatt discount certificate stays, Hyatt employee or employee family discount rates, airline interrupted-trip vouchers or contracted rooms (a contracted room is a room that has been reserved pursuant to a written and executed agreement between a hotel and a corporation, government agency or individual for a negotiated room rate in exchange for an agreed upon number of rooms to be rented for an extended period of time). Hyatt Gold Passport points awarded for stays at a Hyatt hotel or resort outside the U.S. are based on local currency converted to U.S. dollars."
