Will a SkyMiles Marketplace stay earn points?
Hi all,
I just booked a stay at a Hyatt using Delta SkyMiles via the SkyMiles Marketplace program. As far as I can tell, the number of points I paid is directly related to the current available hotel price ($1 for 100 pts), so the hotel should be getting the same revenue as it would if I were a normal revenue customer.
My question is, will my stay earn GP points and Diamond benefits?
I'm using SkyMiles instead of GP points hoping that I'll get elite requal credit, but not sure what to expect.
thanks!

That's not totally true I book all the time through my company's third-party travel agency and obviously always get credit...so I don't think it is true that only direct bookings through Hyatt phone sales or Hyatt.com get credit.

That's a corporate rate - those as well as AMEX FHR rates qualify. However, stays that are pre-paid to a third party almost never qualify (SkyMiles marketplace would be one of those).

Looking for clarity on this issue
I was considering using my SkyMiles for a Hyatt booking and saving my BWB FFNs for another time. Is there any disadvantage [that will affect said stay] to doing this? My understanding is that either way I can't earn base or Gx points, but both scenarios allow diamond amenity points and and access to club lounge for diamonds. Is this correct? Additionally, might I get a better upgrade using the FFN's? I'm pretty sure I can't use one of my four upgrades in either scenario... FWIW, hotel in question is Grand Hyatt San Antonio.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just to follow-up on this as predicted up-thread, I did not earn points or elite credit on the stay, but I did earn full Diamond benefits (which amounted to regency club access and welcome amenity). I requested points as the amenity but they did not post automatically.
