In general - any Park Hyatt, resorts, and select other hotels. My personal favorites are: PH Vendome (Paris), PH Milan, PH Zurich, PH Tokyo, PH Washington DC, GH Kauai. There other hotels FT members swear by but I didn't have a chance to visit them (yet).

I know PH Sydney provide Harbour view king as award rooms. They rarely sell "city view" (read no view) which is amazing value for the property with the highest average room rate in Sydney. Combined with a Diamond Upgrade it would make for an amazing NYE.

You're not going to be able to combine FFNs redemption with Diamond Suite Upgrades (unless you're really lucky). And from reports, PH SYD doesn't allow awards for New Year's Eve. That said this is a spectacular property to use FFNs (I had 2 rooms for 3 nights a couple of years ago)

Hmmm, that's interesting. You seem to be right that they offer the City/Harbour King for award stays, and in fact that was even the cheapest paid room I was able to find pulling up various dates. And the City/Harbour King does state in the description that it has a "private balcony overlooking Sydney Harbour". But if you pull up the list of rooms from the hotel homepage, it lists a "Park King" which I assume is the base room overlooking the back of the hotel with terrible views. I'm surprised they don't make those available for award stays.

There are very few of those rooms - so maybe they'll never assign one to Diamonds?

Not even just for Diamonds though. Any old GP base member can book an award room and get a guaranteed City/Harbour King, with "a balcony overlooking Sydney Harbour". I would have thought they'd have tried to make all award rooms book into the base "Park King" (non-view) room, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
