Yeah you really do. Hotels.com doesn't make a habit of having coupons available all of the time. Whereas the current strategy for CheapTickets is to have a coupon always available in the range of 15-20%. It's definitely driven my bookings to CheapTickets - I'd say at least 80% of my current YTD bookings have been through CheapTickets and those that aren't are BRGs.

My preferred option is to buy Ebay gift cards when on sale for $95 with Chase Ink for 5x points. Then use gift cards to buy discounted hotels.com gift cards for $90 when on sale by SVM. Then use hotels.com gift cards to reserve hotels when hotels.com offers coupon codes.
