Hotel pricing in Mexico is an absolute joke....and a ripoff.

Over the past 18 months, the value of the Mexican peso has devalued by +40% vis-a-vis the USD, but you'll never see any of that reflected in hotel pricing. Even tourist hotels in places like Russia will price somewhat in relation to the value of their currency.

It has been suggested to me, if you are having issues with the pricing, deal with Ramada USA. Let them force the franchise in Mexico to comply.
Again, keep screen shots.

I've got a friend working on something. Give it a couple weeks and we'll see what happens.
Any update or is this deal officially dead?

My reservations still shows the rate in MXN.
As I mentioned a couple posts ago, I would keep screen shots and deal with Ramada USA to get this honoured.
Considering the original was fully refundable and now my rate shows non-refundable, there could be some hope this will get honoured.

I responded and said I wanted to keep my reservation as it was originally booked in PESOS.
I am still able to pull my reservation on all sites.

My reservation is still showing. I got the USD email which I did not respond to. Contacted ramada.com using their online form to ask why I received an email quoting the wrong price. No response

Just got the following e-mail...........

Dear Valued Guest,

In February, we detected an error on our websites reservation page for the US dollars to MXN pesos rate. All rates posted, from our server, to our site are to be in US dollars.

In that time , we sent you an e.mail informing you about this situation,

We know that this can affect your travel plans, so if you wish to cancel you may do without charge or would you give us the opportunity to offer you a good rate?

Sincerely Yours,

I was curious as to what the hotels "offer" was.
The response.......
Thank you for your e.mail Mr. La Palme:

.....
I apologize for this inconvenience, the rate that we could offer you is $ 65 USD per night, tax & wifi are included,....

Let the negotiations begin!....

...It's $68 for most nights on Tripadvisor

I don't see them budging enough to make this worth it. Does anyone have an email address for someone at Ramada corporate that I can report this too?
