Airport lounges
Have been many times in the HKG airport and some of the airline lounges are excellent and some even have showers to refresh. If you can not get in from your credit card join Priority Pass and pay the $25!for the use of that lounge and then any other you may need on your trip.

Thanks for the info...must have missed this one when checking their site. Strangely, when i called them and specifically asked them on the availability of a day rate, they said they didn't have any day rates...

Enter HK Airport location
I entered Jun 6 as in date, and Jun 6 as out date
I saw a 1300 HKD, superior room rate that includes a 55-min massage
PM me if you have questions.

I plugged "hong kong hotel 24hr rate" into google and one of the first things that came back was:
http://www.mongkok.dorsetthotels.com...release-02.pdf
A random date for next month came back at HK$1040++
The Cosmo hotel was on the next line down - options do seem to be there...

If a traveler has Priority Pass issued in the US (AMEX) I see we have 24 hour access to the Plaza Premium Lounges at HKG. If I were to arrive late evening and have an early morning departure. Would I need to pay for the shower package and rest area. Or is that fee included with the priorty pass admission. Reason I ask, it says that showers are a benefit of access. Thanks and Safe Travels

I have a similar layover to OP but might want to access the airside lounges for a shower and/or nap prior to heading into town. Is that easily accomplished in HKG? IE going through transit security, hitting the lounge and then departing through immigration?

Not easily - you would need to be escorted back from the departure level to the arrivals level by airline staff. It can be done, but it's a bit of a faff.
There are landside lounges with showers.

I found all the info in a CX thread which I don't currently have the time to search/link. As I'm in CX F it might be annoying for the staff but it is doable (according to the info).

I used my AmexPlat/Priority Pass in May 2013 and was granted complimentary access to lounge and shower facilities....it was around 5 pm on weekday. Had about 30 minute que for shower but it was worth it. I also noted some folks had massage reservation.....

Because I was lead to believe the food/drink was minimal there and, with a 5AM arrival, my plans had yet to be set for the morning.
As it was I departed at 9AM from the Wing, arranged at 8AM, and everything was very smooth.

Aaaaand... I just booked an MR with an 18-hour turn in HKG, 6pm-12pm the next day. I'm looking at kicking back at the Plaza Lounge, but I wanted to ask: If we want the rest area, do we also have to book lounge access on top of that? Or should I just book a 10-hour lounge access and go shower at a CX lounge when I finally have access?
On a related note: If I'm arriving with my onward BP in hand, but for the next calendar day, would they let me through the transit line into the departures level?
