Based on my experience:
- a small room on the ground floor
- no chair to sit on in room
- a view of a wall.
This was in March 2001.

My experience - 3 or 4 times:
Executive floor room, view of airport
No lounge access - "it's very small and we limit the number"
Coupon good for the buffet breakfast.
Exercise and pool access.
Nice staff.
Oops, I think I was Silver then - late 2000 and early 2001. You might have a better shot at the lounge being Gold.

Staying tommorrow night for the first time in years. Can anyone tell me what time the exec lounge closes on a Friday night and what's the upgrade situation for Diamond's eg Exec floor or Suites.
Thanks

My only experience there was not a good one. Got in around 9pm one night, was given one of the ground floor handicapped rooms. I didn't want it, but was told that that was the only room left.
Room wasn't smaller or anything, but it was somewhat uncomfortable. Additionally, the bed wasn't what I wanted...double vs. king.........and the bathroom was a handicapped one........so the shower was one of those hand held showers, and no bathtub or shower stall........in essence the whole room was the shower with a drain.

Just remind you that the walk is some 10mins walk. if you have a lot of luggage, get a trolly!
My experience there, on the other hand, is quite ok. modern room with fax in room, executive floor with atrim (inside) view. The executive is typical so nothing to lose except a coke and a roll if you can't get in there.
Good Luck and tell us your experience!

I agree with the posts above, the hotel is nothing special. Its not bad though, good enough for a shower, short rest and back to Heathrow.

Had the worst Hilton hotel experience in 10 years over Thanksgiving weekend. THe manager was not around to complain. I stayed 3 days and left a message every time I came back from meetings. Next time I will stay some where else.....
Good for a shower and bed.

Why is Heathrow Hilton a Premium Hotel?
I'm redeeming a PointStretcher at the Heathrow Hilton for a weekend stay next month and was curious why this hotel is classified as Premium class?
I've never stayed at this property yet, but from my understanding it is your typical airport hotel with no particular bells and whistles.
Anyone have any feedback as to why this might be classified as such? Also, what perks can a Gold on an award stay reasonably expect?

Lots of hotels seem to have bizarre classifications; my guess is that it's closely related to what gets negotiated when the property joins one of the Hilton chains.
For example, the downtown Boston Doubletree is also classified as a "Premium" property for award redemptions, even though it's a fairly lousy hotel in a marginal location. The Hilton Boston Back Bay, by contrast, is only a Classic for HHonors awards, but it's a much nicer hotel in a far superior location.
Edited to fix typo

Probably because it is a relatively expensive hotel to stay at.
