Just stayed here for the night and it was okay but I think I expected too much...It was a night for me and a friend and I booked it using my free voucher from last quarter's promotion so I can't complain about price.
When I checked in the staff was very nice, especially once they realized the rude man they were helping was not with me but had cut it front of me. They said I had been upgraded since I was gold so I had a deluxe room in the Wilshire Tower. Went to the room and discovered it had one king bed but I needed two beds (which had been indicated in the reservation) since my friend would be joining me. Headed back down to desk, they apologized and said I would no longer be in an upgraded room and gave me a key to a room with two beds in the Oasis tower. Wow, the room was dreadful. I felt like I walked into a hot ashtray. Stuffy as heck and smelled horrendous. Honestly, I would be pissed if I paid $200 - $300 and got this room. I can appreciate that this room was probably glamorous a few decades ago but now it is just badly worn and an embarrassment for Hilton especially the Beverly Hilton.
I texted my friend and she was cool with sharing a king bed so headed back to registration. Once again they were super helpful and I was re-assigned my original room. The room was nice but really this type of room should be considered standard for the hotel and not an upgrade. To me it was on par with many other Hiltons I have stayed at. I was disappointed there was no bathtub as I love taking nice baths when I stay at a hotel.
Overall, hotel was very lovely and staff was helpful. As a gold, the continental breakfast buffet was free with a $10 upgrade to the full buffet which we did not mind doing to take advantage of the freshly made omelets. Service at the restaurant (Circa 55) was exceptional!
The lobby and main areas are beautifully done. People watching is awesome...great variety of people roaming about. I am glad we stayed there as it has always been on my to do list but as far as hotels go it did not really "wow" me, it was a basic nice hotel that happens to be in a luxury destination.

I used to be a fan of this hotel - making it a common stay on BH trips, but in the past 6-9 months, I have reduced my time significantly.
The main reason: The food is poor for the location, price, and expectation at this 'type' of hotel. I dred having breakfast (room service or the borderline-denny's buffet) and if I have to dinner via room service.
Moreover, the *bucks is a one-man coffee machine at the bar in the morning. If you are staying for business at for Century City, pass on this and stay at the Intercontinental or the Hyatt Century Plaza.
Room internet routinely makes you log in - for those remoters w/some form of vpn access, it's rather disappointing.
Sorry Hilton, but this flagship is underwhelming and NOT worth the sometimes premium price.

The Beverly Hilton
I am staying at the Beverly Hilton for the first time this weekend. Any tips on this hotel or rooms should request/avoid? As a gold has anyone been offered a room upgrade? I assume the only place to park is at the hotel itself? Sounds quite pricey...
Any other bits of information anyone thinks relevant would be appreciated.
Cheers

And there are times when the Pros seem to be abundant in the lobby bar but other times where that's not an issue. And FWIW, I've seen BHPD escort an ...escort outside the hotel and the bartenders are no dummies.
Still a cool property with history and celebrity sightings at times, but spendy and a bit outdated in sections for such an iconic hotel.
