Hey All,

Just wondering, where do you feel you have been treated the "best" at a Hilton property as Gold? This can include any combo of upgrades, welcome/daily gifts, free breakfast, or any other special treatment that you received. There is a parallel tread for Diamond.

I'm Gold, and I'm not sure I've ever gotten anything for it. Of course, since becoming Gold I've only stayed at Hamptons or HI Expresses. Will break the string next month, am staying at a Hilton in London. We'll see. tls

As a gold for 5 or 6 years now, rarely have I gotten anything beyond the published bennies of breakfast certs, free water, exec lounge access, etc. On a couple of occasions over the years, I have been told I was "upgraded", but could discern nothing special about the room other than maybe not getting "interstate view".

By far the best gold treatment was my recent stay at the Vancouver Hampton, where I was upgraded to a true 2 room suite with full kitchen.

Noga Hilton Cannes - by far. I've stayed there three times as a Gold. Always get a split of champagne and fresh fruit or a plate full of mini pastries - and that great breakfast out on the terrace above the Croisette. Two of the three times, I've been upgraded to a suite or junior suite.

Edited to add: And these were awards.

As a Gold, I've been bumped to the Executive floor at the Hilton Lac-Leamy (a rather spectacular room, with a huge bathroom). I've also been given a corner suite on the top floor at the Hilton Toronto/Markham. This hotel is all suites, but having a corner room was certainly nice and it did appear to be larger than the standard suites.

When I was a gold several years ago, I made a stay at the HGI Napa, upgraded to a suite, breakfast all six nights, and this was on an award.

ZRH Hilton without question - every detail of Gold entitlement or expectation met or exceeded.

I would also have said Lac-Leamy until my last stay where no upgrade was forthcoming and as a result, no lounge access. After several great stays this was disappointing. It's still a favorite though.

Hilton Times Square on my first visit to NYC. Cheapest rate on a weekend ($180). The agent who checked me in said "Mr. Savage25, I have a real treat for you" and upgraded me to a one bedroom suite and handed me 2 breakfast coupons (I used one, got points on the other). It was huge, about 650 sq ft, with two big screen tvs, cd player and free broadband.

HWV - Upgrade to the high floor on Ocean Tower to one of the most optimal rooms in the building. Bottle of champagne awaiting us upon arrival in the room. All on a 100k ALON stay. Wonderful lounge down the hall from our room as well.

Honorable mention: huge suite upgrade at Chicago Palmer House on an $89 special rate we got as part of a direct promo from the hotel. Too bad that one was just a two-nighter...

HHV was fine on our second 100k ALON. An Ocean View upgrade and breakfast vouchers. But I had to do some haggling to get both the u/g and the breakfasts - finally a manager agreed that I should definitely get the breakfasts and he grudgingly forked over a decent room. The difference at HWV is that I didn't have to *ask* for any of that treatment.

I honestly dont know where to begin. Apart from lounge access (where lounge exists), breakfast, water etc, I have also had good luck with upgrades (including some double and triple upgrades) as Gold.

Some of the better ones - full executive suite at Metropole (in case Jenbel reads this, no it wasnt that time I bailed on Up Over DO due to feeling sick), fulle executive suite at Petaling Jaya.

Australian hiltons are good for free bottle of wine (low-mid range) and chocolates.

Oh and Edinburgh Caledonian upgraded to Junior Suite with castle view.

Many other upgrades wont mention here - these are the best ones, until I made Diamond and double-upgraded at Conrad Singapore (that suite was bigger than my apartment!)

Conrad Hong Kong

Upgrade to executive floor. Executive floor lounge had huge spread for breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening hors d'oeuvres.

Nice view of the Peak from high floor room. Chocolates and fruit every night in room.

Gracious service every where you turn at this hotel.

This is a comment on the garden spots to which I travel.

HGI in Omaha -- given a huge suite
HI in Lawrence, KS -- given a whirlpool suite (traveling by myself)

I find that I have the hardest time getting my benefits at Hiltons. HGI's and DTs are generally good. ES's essentially give you nothing but the snacks/water, which I usually get. HI's are all over the place.
