Question

What are the Diamond benefits for HGVC in Vegas?
Do they differ from property?
Thanks in advance

My 'guess' is that you might get upgraded to a 1-bedroom from a studio if the property isn't too busy (ie, you're not there during a large convention).

In the past the one on the strip gave out $10/certs per night (so, 6 for 6-night stay) for use in their market, but my understanding is that they have since switched to the 1-$10 cert/stay that the other properties have.

I can't really think of any more benefits they would be able to offer since it's a timeshare.

I've stayed at the Hilton & at the Strip. I prefer the Strip.

I also read on the Flamingo site that they're doing some renovation starting later this year, so not sure rooms will be available during that timeframe. Can't quite remember what it said when I was looking.

Here are pics of the 1-bedroom at the HGVC on the Strip.

Also, the 'deuce bus' runs in front of the hotel & goes all the way down the strip. $5 for 24-hours. I find that easier than heading over to the Sahara to catch the monorail there.

Cheers.

Thank you very much, I have to be there next week the 12th to the 14th and the LV Hilton wanted over $225 a night I got a suite for $140 at the HGVC next door. I think they can't upgrade me to anything better? or can they?
I'll push for the $$$ coupons I guess, just need Breakfast two mornings. I have been offered two dinners and lunches for my 2.5 days
Sharon you rock!

Well, bearing in mind it is a Club:
  • room - excellent
  • cookies - mmmm !
  • hallways - tatty, not vacuumed
  • cafe - so, so - only if you're really hungry
  • staff -unremarkable, not good, not bad
Unless it's much cheaper, I'd go to the South Strip HGI instead.

Agree. Stayed 02/10 on award. Nothing spectacular. Nice location.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the Las Vegas Strip

For my next Las Vegas stay I have to decide between the

Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the Las Vegas Strip

and the

Las Vegas Hilton

Whilst I was in the latter one, I have no clue about the first one.

- Why is better in the first one?
- Does the HGVC have a lounge with free drinks and food?
- Do they threat diamonds well? (i.e. may I expect more than in the LVH?)

I bought at the HGV on the Strip. One tower is newer than the other (both recent), with two more to go I think. Everything is consequently new b/c of this... LCDs, Bose, decent beds, pool, games, commisary, bar, exercise, free wireless. Not a perfect location but neither is the LV Hilton. No casino/buffet/shows in the building if that matters to you.

To answer your question specifically,

- Why (HGV on the Strip) is better in the first one?
New, full kitchen, more of a suite. More room, less shenanigans. Depending.

- Does the HGVC have a lounge with free drinks and food?
No. Might I recommend the Stage Door, it's nearly free?

- Do they threat diamonds well? (i.e. may I expect more than in the LVH?)
Yeah. And if you toy with them about buying, they're extra nice. HGV isnt a convention property.

If you want a better room, I'd go with HGVC Las Vegas Strip. For Diamond Perks, go with the LV Hilton.

HGVC Strip most likely won't be able to upgrade you to a full 1-br unit unless you're going at a very slow time of the year. I believe they give you a $5 or $10 coupon for the deli/store for breakfast since they don't have a restaurant. LV Hilton may still be comping the buffet for Diamonds for breakfast..

Really? I stayed here 10-12 times last year and was upgraded to a suite every single time. It's a $10 coupon ... but if you ask them for more of them, they'll give them to you. I have a stack of them from my last stay. ^

Thank you HGVC, I have no use of your nonsens coupon. The nights go therefore to the Hilton Las Vegas.

For those that have taken advantage of these HGVC timeshare tour promos, how are the free chips and dining credit components of the offer fulfilled? Will I have to worry about an attempted bait and switch and being cheated out of the casino chips and free food.

I'm staying this weekend at HGVC Flamingo. Booked this a while back; wanted this weekend as its NCAA tourney 2nd round. Forget the original offer but I was able to negotiate to $99+tax total for 2 nights, no date restrictions, no HH points thrown in but will be getting $40 in casino chips and a $25 dining credit.

Originally they tried to book me at the newer HGVC Strip but I made it clear my accepting their offer was contingent on being able to stay at Flamingo (location was my key consideration). It took them a while to switch my res from Strip to Flamingo but they finally took care of it about 4 weeks ago.

Shame on me for not checking here first. I just arrived at HGVC on Strip. HHonors Gold, no room upgrade from basic room to 1 bedroom, offered to pay but told all sold out (of course, 3 hours earlier they were available online, but when I checked after going into my room, they were in fact unavailable online).

Neglected to provide WiFi password at checkin.
Neglected to refer me to Help Desk for Coupon. I get my coupon after calling to ask what I was supposed to get as a Gold, and go down to redeem it, not realizing it's ONE coupon per stay.

So, no complementary continental daily breakfast. No room upgrade. What exactly is the amenity offering for Golds at this property? If someone has an official answer, I'd like to know, because I am ready to be a grumpy customer when time comes for me to complete a post-stay survey.

I am staying at the LV HGV on the strip (not the Flamingo one). Got a room for 200 for 2 nights for 2 with no weekend surcharge by consenting to a timeshare presentation. You buy it, then make reservations for the nights you want. I was kind of scared as they might not have feasible dates available. but sat-mon was ok. Also, i got upgraded to a 1 bdrm suite when I called, which kind of tells me that I didnt get good deal and could have done better in terms of price.

So is this good?

Also, the agent told me something like 'ask the cab driver not to take the tunnel when coming from the airport'... I have never been to vegas, what does that mean? and whats the alternate route?
