Cool. For the run, you could probably stay on Paradise all the way to Tropicana, but I just followed my friend. Since he was local I assumed he knew what he was doing. We kinda wandered around the UNLV campus a bit, but it was good to get off of sidewalks, for a little bit at least.
The last bit (loop up around the LV Hilton) was good too. He wanted to get in a full 10k (I was indifferent), so he was happy. We got a couple green lights on Paradise at the end so I got in a nice sprint finish.

Hilton Hotels near Paris Las vegas

I am attending a summit at the Paris Hotel in Vegas. I want to get some Hilton HHonor points. does anybody know if there is a Hilton or one in the Hilton family near the Paris that I can get some HHonor points? Preferable walking distance. :-)

There are several hotels in the Hilton chain there. I suggest you key in the street address for the Paris hotel at the Hilton web site and search for hotels. It will bring them all up and show the distance from that address. Select the map view and you will see their location and would give you an idea of distance. I believe the HGVC at the Flamingo may be closest to the Paris from what I recall, but been a while since I was there.

Yea, I did this, but the street level I got was not clear to me concerning the hotel, how far from Paris, etc. since I will be taking courses at the Summit which is held at the Paris, I need to be able to get there quickly. did you use Google Earth or what map program would you recommend? that was my main obstacle, not being able to see exactly how far the hotel is from the Patis, walking distance, etc.

thanks and if you know a map that takes you to a clear street level let me know.

I believe (from memory) the closest is a hampton inn (Tropicana), which according to Google maps is 1.5 miles.

It is one block off the strip, I last stayed at New York New York which is on the intersection of Tropicana and the strip. Certainly walkable from there but a fair distance.

Depends what you view as a walkable distance really

None of the hilton chain are that good a location for the strip imo

You can use regular google.com maps to get walking directions ( beta ). Just put in both adresses and select the person icon for walking directions. This should give you some idea.

Try Hilton Grand Vacations Suites at the Flamigo, I'm pretty sure it is the closest. Just walk up to Las Vegas Blvd, cross over, cut through Ballys and you are there.

To quote Steven Wright, "Everything's within walking distance if you have the time!"

Other than the HGVC Flamingo, if you have a car, next closest option might be the Embassy Suites on Paradise just south of Flamingo Rd (Roughly a mile away, it's between Paradise and Swenson, with entrances from both sides, across Paradise from the Hard Rock Hotel parking garage). From there, you can come down Harmon, right on Audrie, pass behind Planet Hollywood to Paris, thus avoiding Flamingo Rd and the Strip.

Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo is indeed the closest. You can quickly get to Paris LV on foot.

If a HGV doesn't do it for you, the next bet is the Embassy Suites Convention Center, three blocks from the convention center monorail station. Get off at the second stop. Paris LV shares a monorail station with Bally's. Monorail bonus: You'll reach Paris LV from the back, which means not going through the casino to get to the convention center.

If you have a Hampton Inn budget, the one off Tropicana is the closest, but it is on the "wrong" side of I-15. Forget about walking. Car or cab are your two options, unless they have a strip shuttle that gets you there somehow.

PS: You can also use the monorail to go to/from the HGV Convention Center via either the Sahara or Hilton stations.

Not Wanting to Walk Too Far

Since the courses at the Summit start real early, I thought maybe somebody knew of a Hilton Hotel I could use my new Hilton credit card on for the "first stay" requirement that was close. I have not been to Vegas in about 20 years, so I am sure it is totally different.

the Map thing just confused me. I have Google Earth but using it to find a Hilton and the walking distance for me has not been an easy thing to do.

there is no Paris Hilton any longer............ fact is there are no longer any Hilton's in Vegas with the LV Hilton changing the end of last year............ there are other Hilton branded properties (ie. Vacation Suites, Embassy Suites, etc. but no Hiltons)

that being said, last time out, 1-way fares were $5, but they had a 1-day pass at $12 (and I think they had a 3-day pass as well but don't know the price)

Lesser Than the Reduced Rate

I am hearing from people going to the Summit at the Paris that they are getting rooms half the price of the "low attendee rate" from Travelocity, Expedia, etc.

I have never used these places. If you get a room through one of these places will it be just like if you paid the "Reduced Attendee Rate?"

anybody know which one is the best? I need to know what hotel it is. I heard one you take your chance on getting your hotel. I need to get a room at the Paris. Any suggestions on one of the travel websites that they would recommend?
