Gold and Diamond members receive a $13 per person room charge credit. Solo travellers asking nicely can receive a $26 credit by having the room listed as double occupancy. (or just book for two)
Credit can be used at most on-property venues except Chill'm. Gratuities cannot be applied against this credit. You are not obliged to apply this credit against breakfast.
Breakfast buffet costs $26. A take-away breakfast is available at the food court for $13.
Resorts fees are NOT added to award stays using all points.

I've stayed 4 or 5 times at The Tropicana over the years and at the end of the day, they're just basic rooms.
I'm heading to Vegas on Wed for 4 nights, and I'm staying in a suite in the towers at The Luxor for about the same price as the Tropicana. I'm attending an event at the Mandalay Bay again, so I wanted to be close enough to walk.

Does this hotel do day rates? I may be making a trip there in a few weeks and want to see Criss Angel's 7 p.m. show on Saturday at Luxor and do an 11:45 PM flight out of LAS. I normally stay at the HGVC on Karen since the rates are usually reasonable and they don't charge diamonds a resort fee. I figure stay there the rest of the stay and on Saturday morning I can check out and do a day rate at Trop if they offer it so I'll have access to a pool during the day and won't have to worry about storing my luggage and will have enough time to get there from Luxor to retrieve my bags and make my flight.
(Only other thing I can think of to do is tip the luggage storage guy at Luxor good and have them store my bags for the day and hang out on the strip all day).

I would skip Criss Angel's show unless you are a true fan. Take a look at the reviews. The new show gets better reviews than the former show he had at Luxor.
Safe travels!

Absolutely the worst show I have ever seen in Las Vegas. No wait. Worst show I have ever seen period. DO NO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. I was comped and told my host to pay me for the torture.

Thanks for the heads up on Criss. I love magic shows and most Cirque shows so was looking forward to it. I see Cher is performing then and I may see her instead. I saw her perform at Caesar's when she was headlining there, too much time wasted on costume changes but still a good show.
Absinthe at Caesars is a show that I really enjoyed (warning don't take kids to it and don't go if vulgar language offends you).

I appreciate in the reviews that I found online and posted on Trip Advisor that Cher did not bring up politics during her show at the Park Theater @ Monte Carlo. I did not see the show. The reviews were very good.

I needed one more stay to complete a gold challenge, so booked a night here on Memorial day. Of course, it didn't credit, so had to call in. Not a horrid property, but the resort fee is such a joke.

Glad this thread is here. After reading the reviews, I'll skip this place. Have quite a bit of Vegas travel planned in next 8 months, both personal and work. No thanks... I'll skip it and stay somewhere else.

I was tempted to stay here because of their $47 MVP / $55 AARP rate until on selecting it it says it does not include the $33 resort charge, which takes care of:
- Guest internet access; supposed to be free for Honors members
- Fitness center access; should be free for diamonds
- Valet/self parking; free at many Las Vegas properties
- Buy 1-get 1 free signature cocktail in Biscayne Bar 5PM-7PM daily. So this includes nothing. It should be 1 free cocktail if it had been included.
- 2 for 1 at the Laugh Factory; Another fake include. Also, is one supposed to go there each night?
- 2 bottles of water per stay; Wow! A $0.20 value! First night only, so another fake include.
- Local & toll-free calls; So, if I need to make a local call I need to head back to the hotel?

The resorts are trying to stick it to the 3rd party booking sites. The hotel keeps all of the money with the resort fee (except taxes). It makes them higher in the list when booking a room from a 3rd party. Similar to what the airlines do.
The Tropicana does not care as much about booking rooms, as it does getting people to gamble on the casino floor. If you gamble enough they will waive the resort fees.
It is standard in Las Vegas and many resort cities around the globe. Times change.

Thank You to Tropicana Las Vegas!
I don't know if Tropicana LV coordinates this with Hilton Corporate, but either way, I wanted to give credit to the Trop for supporting victims and their families impacted by the mass shooting here.
The Tropicana is one of a number of hotels in Las Vegas offering free rooms for family members travelling to Las Vegas to assist affected family.

Given its proximity to the concert site, the Trop was also a makeshift safe haven on that Sunday night, utilizing one of its own conference rooms.
Thank you Tropicana and Hilton.
