End of the Airline Partner Bonus
From this month's HHonors statement:

Effective April 1, 2002 you will no longer be able to earn 250 HHonors bonus points when you travel with an HHonors airline or rail partner.

The car rental partner will continue.

It will be a bummer to lose those 250 automatic bonus points.

My latest statement indicates that the 250 HHonors bonus points you earn when you travel with an HHonors airline or rail partner in conjunction witha na HHonors stay will terminate on 1 April 2002.

Hi ebell,

This is where in addition to the Hhonors points and FF scheme miles ( Double Dip) where (technically , according to HHonors guide)you showed a boarding pass for one of Hiltons air/rail partners you got an extra 250 Hhonors points)

In reality for all my Hhonors stays the 250 bonus points got awarded automatically without showing a boarding pass ( probably reflecting the showing of the FF card)

Will miss this. ( May need to stay a few more times)

Hmmm, I was just a hilton this last weekend, and took amtrak, and specfically asked at the desk when I was chekcing out if they had this bonus only for airlines or it it included amtrak and was told it was only for airlines.

Looks like I was told wrongly, though soon enough it will not matter it seems.

I have about 30 recent air travel stubs from UAL for the past two months... Do I fax these to HH and get points?

Gosh, I never knew about this bonus. Do we have to show the boarding passes at check-in only? Can we mail them in later? I may have to dig up mine from the trash can.

Sylvest941 -- You do confuse miles and points here. Double dipping does not go away. The change reported here is that apparently, there will be no more additional 250 HH points bonus (in addition to your base HH points, VIP bonus, car rental bonus and airline miles) that Hilton used to give (and still does) for using one of their airline partners in conjunction with your stay. They used to require you to show a boarding pass or ticket dated within 24 hours from check-in or check-out, but in the last year or so these 250 bonus HH points were credited automatically whenever airline miles (500 or 100, depending on the hotel brand) were requested.

Hope that helps to clear the confusion.

Many times this bonus has never posted for me. I have had customer service(800#) add this to my total after the fact.

Like Eugene, same is the case with me. The extra airline points show up automatically.

You can get the car rental bonus by showing the car rental contract or at times the Emerald Club membership card.
